Crocodile Encounter visits Freeman Library on Thursday, July 19 @ 2:30 & 3:30 pm

Looking to hang out with a baby alligator, a snake or two and some other fun reptiles?  Join us on Thursday, July 19 for a visit from Crocodile Encounter at 2:30 & 3:30 pm.  This program is recommended for children 5 years and older.   We'll learn some fantastic facts about the animals and then we'll get a chance to touch some of them.  Tickets are required.  They're free and available 30 minutes before each session.  This program is popular, so children and their adult may want to arrive about 20 minutes before the tiickets are to be given out.  Thank you to the Friends of Freeman Library for their support of this program.

Sweet Reads

Some days, we just want something sweet. Something delicious, easy to swallow and oh-so-good; something fulfilling in the best possible way. Well, it’s not always in ones best interest to have said sweet things just sitting around all the time, ready to be devoured. Sometimes, one must get their sweet fix somewhere else. For the sake of today’s blog, I’m suggesting: books. Books of all flavors and centers, but all with a bit of sweetness in their title.

NonFiction Rocks!

Have you participated in our summer reading genre challenge yet?  This week we are focusing on NonFiction.

Why read nonfiction?  A well-written, perfectly edited oral history is like attending a cocktail party with the most interesting people -- moving from group to group and hearing everyone's version of a story.  These biographies, histories, and memoirs explore the struggles and triumphs of people as they experience everything from grieving for a loved one to breaking professional ground in their fields. Some are famous and some aren't, but they each have a unique story.
