One Year Later: Share your Stories of Disaster and Recovery with the Harvey Memories Project

Along with the flooded homes and interrupted lives, Hurricane Harvey left millions of stories and images in its wake. As we near the one year anniversary of the flood, a group of local archivists are gathering as many of them as they can. The Harvey Memories Project's mission is to collect, preserve, and share digital artifacts associated with the storm--stories of rescue, resilience, and recovery, as well as stories of painful loss and the lingering questions.

As part of the project, HCPL's Outreach team will visit Katherine Tyra Bear Creek Branch Library on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM to collect your stories and images for the archive. We'll have audio and video recording equipment and laptops on which you can post your own files to the project website.
