Coming Soon to a Library Near You: Patron Count Week

Just a reminder that October 17-22nd is Patron Count Week here at Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library!  We are still in urgent need of many volunteers to help us tackle the week.  The job for volunteers is easy.  We need a volunteer to sit at a table in our lobby every hour the library is open to the public to count each man, woman, and child who enters!  You can read a book or magazine or even play with your mobile devices like an iPod while volunteering!  If you are interested, please go to the Information Desk or call 281-550-0885.

Bear Creek Book Club

The Bear Creek Book Club will meet on Wednesday, October 5th at 7:00 PM in the Magazine Area.  They will be discussing the book The Milagro Beanfield War by John Nichols.  The selection for November is One Second After by William Forstchen.

Patron Count Week

Patron Count Week is coming, and that means we need volunteers!  So what does that mean for you?

Patron Count Week is October 17-22, 2011.  We need a volunteer to sit at a table in our lobby every hour the library is open to the public to count each man, woman, and child who enters.  Sound like a big job?  It’s not!  Anyone who knows their numbers is welcome to help out.  In between counting, you can even catch up on the latest celebrity gossip with a magazine or keep your nose in your favorite book!

New Volunteer Orientation

Are you interested in helping out your library and giving back to the community?  Then be a volunteer!  We will be having our next New Volunteer Orientation on Monday, September 19th at 6:30 PM.  Applications are available at the Information Desk.  Volunteers under the age of twelve will need to volunteer with a parent or guardian.  If you have more questions about volunteering, stop by the Information Desk!
