Ronald McDonald Visits the Library!

Ronald McDonaldLast Tuesday, our Summer Reading Program drew to an end with a special performance by the always entertaining Ronald McDonald!  He put on a delightful magic show for the children and then later charmed the adults at the library.  Thanks, Ronald!

Final Craft & Go of the Summer!

dream catcherOur Summer Reading Program is drawing to an end, so that means this coming Saturday, August 11th, is our final Craft & Go!  Our special craft kit for this week is a Dream Catcher Key Chain.  You can pick up your craft kit at the Customer Service Desk starting at 1:30 PM.  Supplies are limited.  This craft is most appropriate for adults.

Volunteer @ the Library!

booksDo you want to do more to help your community?  Volunteer at the library!  Our next New Volunteer Orientation is Monday, August 6th at 6:30 PM.  Applications are available at the Information Desks (must be signed by guardian if volunteer is under 18).  Volunteers under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  If you have any questions, just ask at the Information Desk!

Bear Creek Book Club

Join the Bear Creek Book Club for their next meeting on Wednesday, July 11th at 7:00 PM.   They will be meeting in the magazine area to discuss The True Story of Hansel and Gretel by Louise Murphy.   The Bear Creek Book Club meets the first Wednesday of each month.


Craft & Go: Beaded Bookmarks

We’re halfway through our Summer Reading Program, but it’s never too late to make a bookmark to help find your place in your favorite books!  Join us on Saturday, July 7th at 1:30 PM for our next adult Craft & Go Project: Beaded Bookmarks!  Our craft kits are designed to be picked up at the branch and completed at home.  The kits do contain small parts so children should not be left unattended with the craft.  Supplies are limited.  First come, first serve.


Craft & Go: Flag Pins

American FlagGet ready to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with your very own patriotic flag pin!  We will be giving away flag pin craft kits for our Craft & Go project on Saturday, June 30th starting at 1:30 PM.  Kits will be available at the circulation desk on a first come, first serve basis.  Limited quantities are available.

Color Windows

WindowCome and make Color Windows on Tuesday, June 19th at 3:00 PM!  This special craft that resembles stained-glass windows is most appropriate for ages 6-12.  Tickets are required and will be released one hour before the start of the program.  First come, first serve.

Family Cooking

Kids in the kitchenJoin us for the next of our Family Cooking presentations on Thursday, June 14th. At 2:00 PM.  Our expert from the Texas AgriLife Extension office will help you learn how to get the most for your money!  You’ll also see a demonstration on how to make a really delicious shake.  Our next Family Cooking program will be Thursday, June 28th at 2:00 PM!
