One Buddy, Two Buddies, HEB Buddy!

How’s everyone doing so far? Good, I hope? Excellent!! So I just wanted to let you all know that something special will happen at the Preschool Story time on this Tuesday, June 17th at 11 am. Want to know why this particular story time is special? Okay I will tell you.

Let Us Explore Rockets!

We are officially into our first week of Summer Reading Program and we have some exciting programs coming your way.

We Got Mad Science!!!

Happy Summer Everyone!!! So are you all ready to have some fabulous time this summer? Alright!! Let’s address the most important fun thing first and the rest will follow. Starting June 2nd 2014, Summer Reading Program begins and this year’s theme is “Fizz, Boom, Read”- everything to do with Science.

We Got Something New!

Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when we get a chance to play with something new and explore new things? I think it’s exciting. If you nod yes or even if you want to deny, though I highly doubt that you will, I am thrilled to tell you that we have new toys and I am extremely grateful for the Barbara Bush Library Friends for making this possible for us.

Summer Is Coming!

Summer is coming! And so is the Summer Reading Program, starting June 2nd till August 9th. We need Summer Volunteers to help with the Sign Up. If you are interested, please fill out a volunteer application and return it to Jennifer at Barbara Bush Branch Library. The volunteers need to be 16 and older. If they are under 16, they need to be accompanied by an adult. We love our Volunteers and we appreciate any help that we can get.

Let Us Learn Something About Saving Wildlife!

Have you ever come across a wounded animal or bird? Have you wondered what happens to them or who takes care of them. Well, if you did wonder about that, I will tell you about this wonderful group called “Friends of Texas Wildlife”. They are a group of trained volunteers and they have permission to provide care for injured animals in Montgomery and North Harris counties. If you are interested in learning more about them, join us at Barbara Bush Branch Library on May 13th 2014 at 4:30 pm. And guess what? They will have an animal attraction for you too!

Internship Opportunity!!!

Are you a 16 to 18 year old? Are you looking for a summer job? Do you like to be among books and children? If you answered yes to all those questions, we have an opening for a Summer Internship in the Children’s department of the Barbara Bush Branch Library sponsored by Barbara Bush Library Friends. If you find this interesting, come and get your application from the desk in the Children’s area and submit the completed application by May 15th 2014. Good Luck!

Watercolor Fun!!!

What do you say, should we play with some colors one day? Would you like that? I think you would. Let’s get together on April 29th 2014 @ 4:30 pm in the Robin Bush Activity Room here at Barbara Bush Branch Library. I hope you all come because we are surely planning some fun with watercolors!

Science Here, Science There!

Science here, Science there! Science, Science everywhere! Do you ever wonder about the why and how of various things around us all the time? If you said yes, then this Science program is perfect for you as it will help you learn something new. If, on the other hand, you said no then too this program will be great for you since you’ll have fun with some cool stuff. So come join us for a very special Family Science Program on April 19th 2014 @ 11 AM in the Robin Bush Activity Room. You’ll learn and have fun at the same! How, you ask? Come and find out!

What They Did in Ancient Egypt

I am always mesmerized by the idea of mummification, hieroglyphics, pyramids and so many different things that the people did in ancient Egypt. I bet you are too, wouldn’t you agree? Well, you know what, let’s do something “Egyptian”. Join us on Tuesday, April 8th at 4:30 pm for Silly Science where we will learn the basic Egyptian concepts of mummies, hieroglyphics, pyramids and more. As always the program will be in the Robin Bush Activity Room. See you then!
