Tell Me Something I Don't Know

Pogue's Basics: LifeHave you heard of Pogue's Basics? They're handy little books from David Pogue that fill in all the blanks of what you've learned in your life. One of them is all about technology and has handy tips that even one of our Technology Trainers didn't know. I recently read the one about life, and I'm using several of his tips now on a daily basis. If I wasn't a know-it-all before, I definitely am now!

Help Someone Learn to Speak English

TeachingTa stavek je v slovenskem jeziku.  Can you read that sentence?  Imagine if reading that sentence made the difference in knowing where the doctor's office is located - or something even more urgent.  You can make a difference in someone's life by helping them learn to speak and read English.  At the Katy Library, we currently have conversation practice classes for intermediate and advanced English speakers, but we're also hoping to start beginning English classes.  If you're interested in teaching a class or helping one-on-one with a student, we train you in how to use our curriculum and support you along the way.  Contact us at 281-391-3509.
