Santa Visiting Katy Neighborhoods Again

Santa & ReindeerDid you see Santa when he made his pre-Christmas tour of the Katy neighborhoods last year?  No?  Then, be on the watch for him this year.  His schedule can be found at the City of Katy website - click here.

Coffee Fundraising at the Reference Desk

Nothing goes better together than coffee and reading.  Next time you're in the library, stop by the Reference Desk and get a cup of Keurig-brewed coffee for $2.  The proceeds go towards the library's program needs, such as craft supplies, party food, summer reading prizes, and more.  This program was kicked off by donations from the Katy Literary Society, the Katy Library staff, and run by the Friends of the Katy Library.

Update on the Katy Library Repairs

RepairsThe Katy Library repairs are going well, and we hope to re-open soon.  We miss our customers and can't wait to see you back using computers, checking out books, and singing in storytime.  Don't forget: you can still turn in your books in the outside bookdrop.  If you check your account online, they will show checked in within a few days.  But don't worry, no late fees.

Watch here or our Facebook page for word on our re-opening date.  See you soon.

Bookdrop Open during Library Closure

ConeCan't wait to turn in your book?  The outside book drop of the Katy Library will be open during the closure later this month.  Just look for the drop slot to the left of the front door.  Otherwise, we'll see you when we re-open.  Watch our website for updates.

Understand History, Understand Today

Jerusalem: the BiographySo many of today's conflicts across the world are based on the conflicts of yesterday.  Pick up a book at the library that helps you understand the underlying reasons behind it all.  One I'm reading right now feels more like an epic novel than a dry textbook.  Check out Jerusalem: the Biography by Simon Sebag Montefiore.
