Wednesday in the Children's Dept!

Do your children [and you] need a break from all the Thanksgiving preparations? If so, come to the Children's Department on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am for Toddlertime and 10:30 am for Preschool storytime!   Your Tomball Children's staff is thankful for all our wonderful children and their parents who spend time with us each week!

Ever wonder what to do with that closet full of wire hangers and those bags of old hosiery in your closet?  Well, wonder no more. This month at Art Explorers, we will take those 2 common household "collectibles" and turn them into works of sculptural art!    Your child will learn about the history of modern/contemporary art and then twist a hanger into a free form design, stretch a nylon hose over it and paint it!  This program will meet on Tuesday, November 8th at 4:30 pm and Monday, November 14th at 1:00 pm in the Children's Department.  Each session is limited to 20 children (ages 2nd - 6th grade).  Call 832-559-4235!

R.E.A.D. to a dog?...

On Tuesday, Oct. 25th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm in the Children's Department, you can read a book to Sheba or Brandy!  They are Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D) with Montgomery Pet Partners, Inc. and they have graciously volunteered to come and read with any child age 4 - 12!  Children who participate in the R.E.A.D program improve in reading and communicating skills, build their self-esteem, confidence, social skills and most of all have fun!  Man's best friend has also become his best reading buddy!  No registration is required, but, you must select your book prior to getting in line to read!  For more info call 832-559-4235.
