Can you believe it’s already week 3 of the Summer Reading Program?  Your Children's Staff is having a lot of fun and hope you are too!

On Monday, June,18th at 3:00 pm, the amazing Nitsana Lazarus will be at the Children's Department with her whole menagerie of puppets!  This show is FREE and guaranteed to delight children of all ages!  Call 832-559-4235 for more information about this or any of our Summer activities!

Learn about the Art of Portraits and have fun creating your own!  This program will meet in the Children's Department on Monday, April 9th at 1:00 pm and Tuesday, April 10th at 4:30 pm .  Each session is limited to 20 children (2nd - 6th grade).  Call for more information and to register.  832-559-4235.

OPERA TO GO!

Come to the Children's Department on Monday, April 2nd and enjoy a special performance of the Chinese folktale "the Clever Wife" by Houston Grand Opera!  This FREE performance is appropriate for children of all ages and their parents!  The show begins at 1:00 pm (please arrive at 12:45 to be seated)  Call 832-559-4235 for more information!

SCULPT AN ELEPHANT?

CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH!

    On Tuesday, February 28th at 4:30 pm, come to the Children's Department to celebrate Black History Month!  Have fun playing trivia games and make a special craft, listen to music and enjoy a yummy treat!  Ages 3 - 12 are welcome to attend!

R.E.A.D - To a Dog?

 Sheba and Brandy - Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D) with Montgomery Pet Partners, Inc. are back!  Come to the Children's Department on Tuesday, January 24th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm and read a book to one (or both) of our special furry friends!   Children who participate in the R.E.A.D program improve in reading and communicating skills, build their self-esteem, confidence, social skills and most of all have fun!  Man's best friend has also become his best reading buddy!   This program is for children ages 4 - 12.  No registration is required, but, you must select your book prior to getting in line to read!  For more info call 832-559-4235.
