Vote Pumpkin This Season!

Some of the staff members at High Meadows Branch Library decorated a pumpkin for this Halloween seasons Pumpkin Decorating Contest. These wonderful and creative pumpkins are out on display in the library and are waiting for your vote! Stop by High Meadows Branch Library and vote for your favorite pumpkin today! Voting will start Monday October 20th during regular library operating hours and end on Saturday October 25th. We will announce the winner of the Pumpkin Decorating contest on Monday October 27th. Into the Unknown

Are you a fan of all things paranormal? Would you like to know more about the things that go bump in the night? Then join us on Thursday October 16th at 5:00 p.m. for a firsthand look into the paranormal investigative world. Pete Haviland, the lead investigator for Lone Star Spirits will share his expertise with us on investigating the paranormal. He has over 25 years of experience and has investigated several places here in Texas such as The Spaghetti Warehouse, Rosharon Cemetary, and Poppet's Way.  Bring your questions and learn about hauntings, paranormal activity, and paranormal investigations. The Basics of Couponing Workshop

 

Have you ever been interested in saving some pennies while grocery shopping and would like to know more about how to find great deals with coupons? Then  join us for a fun filled workshop of coupon information, best practices, and benefits of couponing.  Stop by at High Meadows Library on Monday September 29th at 1:00 p.m. to gain some information about the best ways to coupon and how to start your own couponing practices. 

 

Mexican Foil Art Craft

Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions made by Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States. It is also a time to celebrate their heritage and culture. Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15th and ends on October 15, and what better way to celebrate a culture than to explore some of their art and traditions. Come join us here at High Meadows Library on Monday September 29th at 4:00 p.m. for our Mexican Foil Art Project. Try your hand at making this beautiful traditional art and enjoy some snacks and refreshments as well.

Hello everyone! Just a friendly reminder that High Meadows branch offers weekly story times every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Bring your little ones to a fun filled program with music, stories, activities, and crafts. And don’t forget, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”- Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

 

First Songs!

Join us Wednesday March 5th at 1:00 p.m. for a meaningful, creative, and fun way to introduce reading to your child. First Songs teaching artist Sandra Campbell will be our guest instructor as she teaches moms and dads how to sing, read, and play with their children. Don't miss out on this great program. Writing Contest!

Calling all kids kindergarten through third grade! Enter your story for a chance to win a national contest and have your story published online at pbskids.org/read. If you or someone you know has a child that loves to write and has great stories to tell, have them pick up an application at High Meadows Library. The deadline to apply  is Monday, March 17, 2014. Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Have you made your Christmas list yet? It's that time of year again and Holiday Cheer is spreading like wildfire. Come join us at High Meadows Library as we welcome the biggest giver of Holiday cheer, Santa Claus! On Thursday December 19th at 5:00 p.m. Santa Claus will make his visit to High Meadows library.  Bring your Christmas list and your joyful spirits. Take pictures with Santa and a few of his special Reindeer. Then, enjoy a nice story as Santa reads  A Night before Christmas. Don't miss out on this wonderful time. See you here! 

 

 

Baby Time Fun Time!

Are you a parent who would love the opportunity to spend even more quality time with your baby, meet other moms, and just have fun? Well High Meadows is the place for you. Every Wednesday at 1:00 pm,  High Meadows library will host Baby Book Time. Babies can listen to music, play with toys, and interact with other babies in the neighborhood.
