Book Date Update

Ladies and Gentlemen it is time to spill the beans. We are nearing the end of our blind date with a book program and we want to know how your dates went. Were they a little boring, not exciting enough or maybe a little too over the top? Give us the scoop. If you haven't participated yet in our blind date with a book, you still have a chance! Dating ends on Thursday February 14th so stop by the Northwest Library and pick up your "date" before we have to send them home. Also remember that the surveys are to be turned in before the end of this month so you can receive your prize.  So, how did your date go?

Blind Date With A Book

Looking for something fun to do tonight? How about letting us “set you up” on a blind date. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we are setting young adult book lovers up on blind dates with books from our YA collection. Since it is a blind date, you will not know the genre, title, plot, or anything else for that matter until you take the book home. Read it, and give it a chance to make an impression. The dating will start on Saturday February 2nd and end on February 14th. If you fill a short survey out about your date and turn it in, you will get a sweet treat. It’s fast, easy, and fun! The great thing is, if you don’t like the book or it turned out to be “not the one” you can always return it and exchange it for another.  You won’t hurt our or it’s feelings.  Take a chance, and have fun!

Happy Birthday Dr. King!

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a very important figure in our American history. He was someone who stood up for what he believed in and never backed down. He made such a huge impact in history that we feel it's effect to this day. Some people saw him as a hero, others saw him as an inspiration. In memory of Dr. King's birthday, I have listed a few titles that recognize all our American hero's throughout our history. Be sure to check these out on your next visit to the library.
