Our Evelyn Meador Library's lovely window seating had taken quite a beating, but we've just this week had it reupholstered! It looks great and is ready for you to enjoy a good book, while soaking in some sun. Come see!

Fours More Weeks of Summer Reading Fun!

It's already mid July, but there's still FOUR more weeks of summer reading fun! You can still sign up for the Summer Reading program (kids, teens, and adults), and we have a number of great programs to go; including a visit by Mark Shepherd presenting "Heroes of the Sea", and a Hawiann Dance Demonstration by Hiroko Lewis! Closed for Independence Day!

The Evelyn Meador Library will be closing early next Thursday, July 2 at 5pm ,and will be closed July 3rd and July 4th for Independence Day! Summer Reading fun will begin again when we reopen Monday the 6th at the usual 10am. Have a great 4th!

Join us for another visit from Marsha's Petting Zoo!

Join us out at the side for the library, this coming Monday (6/22/2015) for another visit from Marsha's Petting Zoo! They'll be here from 11am until 12:45pm. We're very much looking forward to our yearly visit from our furry friends!

Cool New Comics Display!

Just in time for our Summer Reading Program, themed "Reading is My Superpower", local comic shop Dimensions Comics Music and More, set up a great comic themed display in the lobby. There's a lot of cool books, magazines, figures, and more so come by and check it out!

 

Next Tuesday, a Special Visit by Spot the Dalmatian at Storytime!

Next Tuesday, join us at the regular storytime time (10:30am), when we'll have a special guest, Firefighter hero, Spot the Dalmatian! He'll be helping us kick-off our summer reading program! This year's theme, Reading is my Superpower!

Join us for another Japanese Sword Demonstration!

Join us this coming Saturday (5/23/15) in celebrating Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month with our yearly Japanese sword demonstration. The art of drawing the Japanese sword, known as Iaido or Iaijutsu, was a fundamental part of the martial training for the feudal Japanese warrior (Samurai). Come meet modern practitioners of the art, and see it performed! It starts at 1pm, in the meeting room.

Another great Japanese history display at Evelyn Meador!

Stop by Evelyn Meador in May to see this year's new Japanese history display, in celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month. It's loaded with a slew of Japanese cultural items, Samurai gear, and books about Japan's martial, feudal, and post feudal history.

Another Great Johnette Downing Program!

A big thanks to Johnette Downing for another amazing program! Her books, songs, and entertainment are always a welcome and much anticipated program at Evelyn Meador. Thanks also for all our great kids and parents to came and participated in the show!

Our next craft - magnetic poetry!

In honor of National Poetry Month, our April 22 craft will be magnetic poetry! It will start at 4:30pm in the computer lab, so show up and express yourself!
