Thanksgiving Holidays!

Just a heads-up that the Evelyn Meador Library, and all Harris County Public Library Branches, will be closing early Wednesday, November 23rd at 5pm, and will remain closed until Monday, November 28th, for Thanksgiving. We will still be offering our regular programs and classes throughout the first half of the week.

This Wednesday - Custom Greeting Cards from Walgreens!

The Holidays are just around the corner, and it's time to be thinking about your yearly greeting cards! Adding images makes it easy to add a personal touch to your greeting cards. Join us to create a custom greeting card using your favorite photos and choose from hundreds of unique design templates from The class starts at 1:30pm this Wednesday (11/16) in the Computer Lab. Be sure to sign up!

Tweens Vote!

It's election day and the Evelyn Meador Branch Library is a voting location, but if you're under 18.... you can't vote yet. So stop by the Teen Isle anytime and we'll host our own election! There will be snacks  too! The winner will be announced Wednesday at 4pm.

Today - All Hallows Read party and Costume contest!

Halloween is the perfect time for scary stories and dress-up fun! Come hear a scary story or two and compete for best costume. We're starting in the meeting room at 4:30pm!

10/29 at the Library - The Galveston Bay Report Card!

Galveston Bay Report card was created by the Galveston Bay foundation and the Houston Advanced Research Center. It is the first easy-to-understand grading system to communicate the health of the Bay to the public. Ms. Heather Schiappa from Galveston Bay foundation will present this year's findings on the 2016 report card 10/29 from 10:30am-12pm in the meeting room.

This Friday - High School Prep!

Are you an eighth grader getting ready to move on to high school? A parent of one? This Friday (10/14) starting at 5pm in the conference room, join us for High School Prep. with Mrs. Lynn Slaughter where she'll cover what you need to know for a great start to a promising high school future. Parents are encouraged to attend! Sign up now, as spots are limited.

We have five more spots available for Friday's (10/7) senior trip to the Lanier Theological Library & Chapel. Call or stop by for sign up, and be sure to be here by 8:45 when the buss leaves!

A Great Maker Monday with Cookies!

We had a great time in our home-ec style Maker Monday making tasty peanut butter, chocolate chip, and sugar cookies! They all turned out great.. for the most part. Thanks to all our great bakers and we look forward to our next Maker Monday in November!

Next STEAM Craft: Marshmallow Catapults

For October's STEAM craft we'll be using simple sticks and marshmallows to make candy tossing catapults! Join us in the meeting room next Wednesday (10/5) at 4:30pm for tasty, crafty, science fun!
