Peter Heller, the author of The Dog Stars, will be at the Clear Lake City – County Freeman Branch Library on Thursday, October 3, at 7 pm to talk briefly about the creation of the novel, followed by Q & A and a book signing. The Freeman Branch Library is at 16616 Diana Lane, Houston, TX 77062.
The author’s visit is a part of Gulf Coast Reads, a program which encourages people of the Gulf Coast to read (or listen to) the same book, with programs and book discussions held at various libraries during the month of October.
This appearance at the Freeman Branch by the author was made possible by the Friends of Freeman Library and a bequest from the estate of Jocelyn H. Lee.
The two programs for Gulf Coast Reads to be held at La Porte Community Library will be a book discussion at 10:30 – 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 9, and a movie from the dystopian genre [title to be announced] on Wednesday, October 16, starting promptly at 4 pm and lasting about 2 hours. Friends of the La Porte Library are sponsoring these two events.
