VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! BECOME A LITERACY TUTOR

You can help another adult learn to read! Register for the Literacy Tutor training sessions to be held at the North Channel Library on Friday, February 22nd from 1-4:30 pm. Literacy Coordinator, Steve Zach, will present unique information to help you become an effective Literacy Tutor. Once you are trained as a Literacy Tutor, you will have the opportunity to meet your new student for one-on-one sessions at the Library. You and the student will decide on the schedule that best meets both of your needs.  The North Channel Library has two Study Rooms that you can schedule for sessions with your student. Happy Thanksgiving!

The Staff of the Galena Park Branch Library wishes you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving! We enjoyed watching the children make construction paper turkeys yesterday. They listed what they were thankful for on the turkey's feathers. The children were thankful for their family, friends and pets. We are thankful that you enjoy your neighborhood library. The Library closes at 6 pm Wednesday, November 21st. We reopen on Monday, November 26th at 10 am. It's official! The North Channel Public Library is the location of one of the newest voting precincts! If your yellow and white Voter's Registration card lists Precinct 0460, you are one of the lucky ones who will be voting on Election Day, Tues. November 6th from 7 am to 7 pm at 15741 Wallisville Rd., Houston, TX 77049. This Precinct is bounded by Wallisville Rd. to the South, Sheldon Rd. to the East, HWY 90 and the Miller Roads on the North and the City of Houston West Canal on the West.
