Monday Kid's Program: Garden Seed Bombs

Today, Monday April 15 the Little Blue Library has a great children’s program in store for you!  We will be making plant garden seed bombs. It is a great way to establish plants in difficult to grow areas and learn a bit about what grows in our area. Saturday Spring Flower Pot Craft

Today is Saturday April 13 and we have a wonderful adult program in store for you! The Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library staff will host a spring flowerpot craft for the Baldwin Boettcher Branch Library customers. The participants will paint their own designs on terra cotta pots, and plant seeds inside the pots that they paint. It will take place at 1 pm under the Tree House.  There are still opening, and you can register on line at hcpl.net on our events calendar.  We hope you can join us!

Blackout Poetry Contest for Poetry Month

Today is Tuesday, April 9, and Baldwin Boettcher Library will be having a program for teens and adults at 4 pm in celebration of National Poetry Month.   We will be making black out poems with pages provided  that will be set on display at the Little Blue Library in Mercer Botanic Gardens to be in judged by patrons in a contest .  At the end of the month, we will see who has the most votes and they will be the winner of the wonderful poetry book, “Milk and Honey” by Rupi Kaur.  This will take place under the Tree House.  No registration is necessary.  Those that are unable to make it to the program on April 9, can bring in their black out poem to the library before, or for several days after the 9th.   They have until April 18 to bring in their contribution for the competition.  We will an

Word Crafters on Wednesday at 5 pm

Today is Wednesday, April 3 and Baldwin Boettcher Library’s Word Crafters will be meeting at 5 pm in the Starbucks at 1960 and Aldine Westfield Rd.  It is a weekly writing group that do prompts, discuss, share, and encourage.  If you like to write or would like to start, come join us.  We would love to see you there.  For more information, please call Carrie at 832-927-5480.   To see what programs we have coming up, check our events calendar at hcpl.net, or just come by and see us at the Little Blue Library.  We would love to see you there!

Monday at the Little Blue Library

Today is Monday, April 1st and Baldwin Boettcher Library has several programs in store for you.  First at 10:30 am we have our Story Time in the Gardens.  It is for ages 2 to 6 years, and will be followed by a craft.  Then at 4 pm we have a children’s program for ages 6 to 11 years, Slime Time.  Let’s make ooey gooey slime!  It will take place under the Tree House.  Later in the early evening we will have our ESL class at 6 pm.  It takes place in the Mercer Botanic Center.  The address there is 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.   It is a free service to assist members of the community who desire to learn to speak the English language or improve their English speaking skills.  Cindy uses exercises that give the participants a chance to practice speaking the English.

Wednesday at the Little Blue Library

Tuesday at the Little Blue Library

Today is Thursday, March 21, and we will have an awesome teen program for you today at 3:30 pm.  Today we warn you something strange is happening in the gardens.  We need your help to get to the bottom of it.  You have just one hour to solve the mystery and save humanity.
