Holiday Hours for New Year's

We are at the end of another year, and the Baldwin Boettcher Library would like to wish you a happy and safe New Year.  We look forward to seeing you at the Little Blue Library in 2019, and have a lot planned in programs for you.  The holiday hours for this week are:
Mon, Dec 31 – open 10 am to 5 pm
Tues, Jan 1 – closed
Wed through Sat – open 10 am to 5 pm

On New Year’s day, customers will still have access to Overdrive, databases, and the other electronic resources.

Word Crafters Cancelled Today

Due to predicted rain, the Word Crafters meeting for tonight, Wed. Dec 26th has been cancelled.  We will meet again, next Wednesday, Jan 2nd at 5 pm in the Starbucks at Aldine Westfield Rd and 1960.  We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.  To see what programs we have coming up, check our events calendar at hcpl.net.  We hope everyone had a great Holiday, and look forward to seeing you this week and into the new year. 

Spin-a-Yarn is Today

Holiday Hours for December 2018

The Baldwin Boettcher’s Little Blue Library Holiday hours are:

  • Friday, December 21st, Normal hours 10 am to 5 pm
  • Saturday, December 22nd, closed
  • Monday, December 24th, closed
  • Tuesday, December 25th closed

We will resume normal hours on Wednesday, December 26th, the branch will open for business at 10 am.  In the meantime, customers will have access to Overdirive, databases, and the other electronic resources during the holiday closure.  All the Baldwin Boettcher Library staff would like to wish you a happy and safe Christmas holiday.

Wednesday Adult Programs for The Little Blue Library

Today we have two adult programs in store for you.  First at 11 am we have Spin-a-Yarn in the Mercer Botanic Center.  It is located at 22540 Aldine Westfield Rd.  If you like to create, knit, crochet, or chat, then come join us!  For more information on the location, please call Carrie at 832-927-5480.  Then at 5 pm we have Word Crafters.  It takes place at the Starbucks at 1960 and Aldine Westfield Rd.  If you like to write or would like to start, come join us.  To see what programs we have coming up, check our events calendar at hcpl.net, or just come by and see us at the Little Blue Library in Mercer Botanic Gardens.  We would love to see you there!

Tuesday at the Little Blue Library

Today is Tues Dec. 18, and we will have a craft program for adults at 3 pm.  It is a Terra Cota Christmas Tree Craft that will take place under the Tree house.  The participants will design a Christmas tree craft that can be a wonderful ornament or gift.  We will be using terra cotta pots, paints and other creative supplies.  Registration is required, and there are 2 spots left.  Just go to our website at hcpl.net and check our events calendar, then click on today’s craft and register.  We hope you join us! 

Monday at Baldwin Boettcher's Little Blue Library

Today is Monday and we have a several programs in store for you.  First at 10:30 am we have Story Time in the Gardens.  The theme this week is “winter”.  It will be followed by a craft.  It takes place under the Tree House, and is for ages 2 to 6 years.  Then at 4 pm we will have our Tween Readers Club for ages 9 to 12 years.  It also takes place under the Tree House.  Each month we read a book and then meet to discuss it and eat a delicious treat.  The book this time is “The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl”.  Then at 6 pm we will have our ESL class taught by our beloved Cindy Groover.  It takes place in the Mercer Botanic Center.

Wednesday Adult Programs for The Little Blue Library

Tuesday at the Little Blue Library

Today is Tuesday, Dec 11 and we will be having our Book Duct Tape Craft today at 4 pm.  It is for all 6 to 99 years and will take place under the Tree House.  All materials will be provided and there is no registration necessary.  If you would like to make a cool journal to give as a gift or for yourself, come join us!  We would love to have you join in!

Monday at the Little Blue Library
