Tablet Trouble?

Did you get a new iPad, Nook or Kindle for Christmas and don't know what to do with it? Come to Tech Time, Saturday January 12, 2013 at 1:30 pm, and our teacher will help you learn the basics of using your tablet! Digital Photo Basics Sat. Jan 5th!

Are you stumped on what to do with all the pictures you just took with your digital camera this Christmas? This Saturday January 5th @ 1:30 we will have a FREE Digital Photo Basics class! Bring your camera, USB cable and a flash drive (or CD) and we'll teach you how to upload, organize and utilize your photo memories!

*There is no registration required, but you must bring your camera, cable and storage device to participate in this class.

Computer Basics Dec. 4th @ 1p.m.!

Mark your calendars for a new season of computer basic classes. Every Tuesday, beginning with December 4th, at 1 p.m. we offer FREE computer classes. These classes are geared for first time users, so no prior knowledge is required. If your nervous bring a friend! We have plenty of space in our new computer lab. To make the most of your learning time, we ask that you follow the class order:

Tuesday Dec. 4th- Computer Basics

Tuesday Dec. 11th- Mouse & Keyboard

Tuesday Dec. 18th- Typing Basics

Make your own Christmas Cards!

Get ready to send out your Christmas cards early with this fun class. We will use Microsoft Word and Publisher templates to help us create personalized memories for our families. Don't forget to bring a couple of saved family photos, and a flash drive to save your creations.This class will be held in our new computer lab Thursday November 29th @ 1:30.

November Computer Classes

We are offering FREE computer classes here at your library. Whether your a beginner or already computer savvy, we have a class for you. Classes range from Computer Basics to Make your own Christmas Cards this month. Make a visit to your library to pick up a November class calendar or click here to see our calendar online. You can also call 713-941-2385 and ask for our Technology Trainer for more information. Some classes do have prerequisites, so be sure to read the descriptions before coming to class.

Make your own Business Forms!

Do you have a small business, or are thinking about starting one soon? Using templates from Microsoft Word and Publisher is an easy way to get all the forms you need. The "Make your own Business Forms" computer class will be held on Monday October 22, 2012 at 1:30. We'll learn how to personalize business cards, invoices, flyers, expense reports and much more. Bring your flash drive and company logo if you want to save and custom make your forms.

Need to find a book on the go?

The South Houston Library has a new iPad catalog! You don't have to wait in line for a desktop computer or wait to ask a librarian anymore. Our new catalog is mounted on the wall, so you don't even have to sit down. Just walk in, make a search, and walk out. It's so easy! Need Help? Make an Appointment

If you need special help with an application or special computer project, make an appointment with our Technology Trainer. We have several free computer classes during the week, so Wednesday afternoon is the best time to make your appointment. Please call us at 713-941-2385 at least one day before so we can accommodate you. You can also stop by to make your appointment in person. We look forward to seeing you at the South Houston Library!

Free Computer Classes at Galena Park

The GalenaPatron on Laptop at GP Park Library staff is excited to announce that in addition to our renovations, we will now provide computer classes for our patrons. The classes are free of charge, and no registration is required. Bilingual classes are also available for our Spanish speaking patrons.
