Teen Movie and Root Beer Floats

Kids, 10 and up join us at the library today for our Teen throw back Thursday movie and Root Beer Floats today, June 23rd.  Today's selection is Back to the Future, Rated PG for some mature scenes. No registration required. Meet us at 2 pm in the Meeting Room. 

Congratulations to our Street Fighter Tournament Winner

Congratulations to (Code Name)  "Cheeto Guy" the winner of the Baldwin Boettcher 2016 Street Fighter Tournament.  He was the final player in a double elimination tournament that started with 17 total players. Cheeto Guy won a goody bag which included a gift certificate to Game Stop. The Street Fighter Tournament was the first in a series of Teen Summer programs at the Baldwin Boettcher Library. NEW Beginning Spanish Class at the Library!

Have you ever wanted to learn another language? Join us at the Baldwin Boettcher Library every Thursday from 4:30 - 6:00 pm beginning June 7th for this a FREE beginning Spanish class. Mercer Botanic Gardens Reopened to the Public

Mercer Botanic  Gardens East Side reopened to the public on Wednesday, May 25th, after being closed for more than four weeks due to severe flood damage. Regular hours and programs have resumed. LEGOs Wanted for upcoming children's library programs

Tired of stepping on LEGOs? Bring them to us and we will make sure they get plenty of play and then get put away!

The LSC-Tomball Community Library has plans to host various LEGO programs appropriate for children in the 5-12 year old range starting within the next few months. Watch upcoming calendars for further program details. 

Donations of basic bricks and all types of classic LEGOs are needed to allow participants plenty of opportunities for creative play.

LEGOs may be brought to the Children's Department of the Tomball Library or call Christie at 832-559-4235  for more information. 

 

 

 

LEGO Simple Machines

Join us as we build models with LEGO DUPLO tech machine kits. Learn about pulleys, levers, gears and ideas such as balance, buoyancy and energy in this 4- part series which will meet on January 5th & 19th and February 2nd & 16th at 4:30 pm. Limited to 16 children in Kindergarten - 4th grade. Please register one week in advance for each workshop. It is not necessary to attend all sessions because projects will be different at each session. Please call 832-559-4235 to register or for more information. 

 

LSC-Tomball Pet Food Drive Benefitting Meals on Wheels

  Please join the LSC-Tomball Community Library in a combined effort with the students of the LSC-Tomball College in a pet food drive benefiting Meals on Wheels Houston. Hot meals for seniors and other homebound adults will be delivered along meals for their pets. Donations of dry or canned pet food will be collected until December 4th. Please help us make sure our furry friends have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays this year. Boxes for donations have been placed throughout the library lobby. Try on a Digital Costume During Tuesday Toddler Time

Halloween is around the corner, do you have your costume yet? If you do, wear it to any story time next week, but if not, no worries. During play time after Tuesday's toddler time, you will have the chance to create a 30 second video wearing the digital costume of your choice using the free FlipLip app on an Ipad. You can be a mermaid, a prince, a princess a pirate or even a stuffed bear. You may then choose the voice of a princess or a robot, a Chipmunk,  Zeuss and more. You video may even be selected to appear on our branch Facebook page. Musikiddity for Homeschoolers

 

Musikiddity will bring their professional portable recording studio to the LSC-Tomball Community Library on Monday, October 26th at 1:30 pm. Homeschool children, ages 8-12 will have fun  while they practice reading lines and learning to create sound effects from ordinary household objects in "How to Carve a Pumpkin...Quickly". This program is free but limited to 12 children. Call 832-559-4235 to reserve a spot for your child beginning Thursday, October 19th.
