Thinking of buying an e-reader or already own one and not sure of how to use it? The South Houston Branch Library will be hosting a workshop Thursday, March 29 from 2-4 pm where you can learn how to use our digital media catalog and download e-books for free using our wireless network. Bring your own e-reader or you can compare between the Nook, Kindle or iPad that the branch will have on display.

On Thursday, March 15th from 10am- 2 pm the Harris County Hospital District Troubleshooters Mobile Unit will be offering immunizations for children ages 2 months to 18 years for a very low cost. Services will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Please bring child(ren) shot record. Renovations to the South Houston Branch continue. Take a look at our most recent pictures! The staff kitchen and workroom look great along with the main room in the library. The meeting room and librarian's office is full of new furniture ready to be unpacked. Please continue to visit our website for more updates and our re-opening information.

:The South Houston Library will continue to offer programs in the area while it is closed for remodeling. We will offer Babytime @ 10 am and Bilingual Storytime @ 11 am every Tuesday. Also on Thursdays we will have either a craft or movie @ 3:30 pm.
All programs will be held at the South Houston Community Center located at: 1007 State St. South Houston, TX 77587. Please contact the Branch Librarian, Clara Lopez ,or view our branch calendar if you have any programming questions.

Saturday, October 1, 2011 will be the last day the branch will be open to the public. This is the last day customers will be able to return their items at the South Houston Branch. During our closure please visit our nearby Parker Williams Branch located at 10851 Scarsdale Blvd. Ste. 510.
