We're Re-opening!

Remembering a Great Lady

We are so proud that our library is named after Mrs. Barbara Bush. And now sadly she has passed on. Our staff and library supporters have heavy hearts tonight. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bush family during this sad time. But we are resolved to continue her work, fighting illiteracy and ignorance, offering education and enrichment to citizens of all ages. We will continue her work and ensure her legacy for decades to come. After all, it is what Mrs. Bush would want us to do.

A Big Thank You to Junior Guild of Texas!

For years the young ladies of The Junior Guild of Texas have been wonderful Barbara Bush Branch Library sponsors. They contribute their time by volunteering and they make a sizeable donation each year to the branch. Since we've been rebuilding, we haven't gotten to see them, and we have missed them. Imagine our joy and gratitude when they gave us a call and met us at the African American Read in with a large check! Their donation will be a big help to us as we buy new books and equipment to restock our reconstructed building. Thank you ladies!
