Staff Picks: Hawksong by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

Danica Shardae is tired of the war between the Avian and the Serpente for as long as anyone can remember. She is tired of losing those she loves. As she nears ascension to leadership of the Avians and after she watches an enemy die in her arms, an opportunity seems to present itself. But can the long-reviled Serpente be trusted? Can a marriage between Avian and Serpente possibly work? And even if it could, can they keep their subjects in line?
