LEARN TO DOWNLOAD FREE BOOKS, MAGAZINES, AND MOVIES

Did you know your library card gives you access to movies, TV shows, and magazines, as well as books?  Our eMedia class on Saturday, July 2 at 1:000 p.m. will go over how to download FREE books and magazines from Overdrive. Also, how to stream movies/TV shows on Hoopla. Bringing your mobile devices (iPad/Android/Kindle, etc.) is optional but recommended. 

FREE CONCERT

The new Katy subdivision, Cane Island, just west of the town of Katy will be celebrating their summer concert series on June 24, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  This Friday will feature the Grateful Geezers.  Everyone is invited to enjoy the live music, kid’s activities and more.  Located at Amenity Village, 2100 Cane Island Parkway. FUTURE GARDENERS

The Katy Kid’s Garden Club will meet on Wednesday, June 22 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
This month Ms. Helen Payne, the "Butterfly Lady", will be teaching about butterflies and what we can do to grow butterflies in our gardens.  

ONE HOUR OF CODE

Hey, kids! Learn the basics of computer coding using interactive games such as Star Wars, Minecraft, and Frozen.  Basic computer knowledge is recommended.  Wednesday, June 15 at 4:30 p.m. in the library’s computer lab.

CHOCOLATE TOURNAMENT

Let the Chocolate games begin!  Our first teen program for the summer will be on Monday, June 6 at 2:30 p.m.  What could be more fun than playing games involving lots of chocolate?  Our summer teen programs will be held every Monday for ages 10 and up only.

LOOKING FOR A JOB?

Polish up your resume in our class on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:00 p.m.  The class will focus on basic resume techniques: formatting, fonts, punctuation, titles, etc., using Microsoft Word 2013. Basic computer skills are strongly recommended. There will be time set aside for a Q&A session towards the end of the class. 

YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB

The young adult book club will meet in May after taking a month off.  The book to be discussed is the awesome graphic novel, Nimona by Noelle Stevenson.  Stop by the library and pick up your copy at the front desk.  The discussion is sure to be lively!  The group will meet on Tuesday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. and is open to all teens.  Hope to see you there!
