SPANISH BOOK CLUB/CLUB DE LIBROS HISPANOS

The Katy Library hosts a Spanish Book Club the first Wednesday of every month. 
Les invitamos a que todos los meses se reúna con nosotros para converser sobre un libro.  The Club will meet Wednesday, September 2 at 6:00 p.m.  This month’s book will be Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club/El Club de la Buena Estrella.

iPAD CLASS

Want to learn new ways to use your iPad?  Join us on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 p.m. to discover different ways to use your device.  Discover how to download useful and fun apps.  You will also be able to ask individual questions after the presentation, so bring your iPad with you!

CITY OF KATY BACK TO SCHOOL BASH

Katy families are invited to an end of summer bash on August 14, 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. in downtown Katy.  A street dance along with vendor booths, a kid’s fun zone, and a Taste of Katy  restaurant contest will be among the activities offered.  Entry fees are school supplies or a back pack with all proceeds benefiting the YMCA’s Operation Backpack.

PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!

Teens and tweens join us for our last summer program as we party with games, snacks, and crafts.  We’ll have the Dance 4 wii as well as other games and a craft table.  For ages 10 and up.

SUPERHERO JEOPARDY

Teens and tweens test your superhero knowledge on Monday, July 27 at 2:30 p.m.  Challenge yourself or as a team with our superhero jeopardy game.  We’ll also have a craft table as well as snacks, so come join the fun.  For ages 10 and up.

MFAH ART CAMP

The Katy Library will be hosting an art camp the week of July 27.  Participants will create various art projects taught by an MFAH artist.  The camp is for ages 6 to 12 and will be held Monday through Friday from 10:00 to noon each day with a visit to the museum on Friday.  Call the library at 281-391-3509 for more information.

TEEN MOVIE TIME

Teens join us Monday, July 13, at 2:30 p.m. for a movie featuring a band of high-tech superheroes.  And, of course, there will be plenty of snacks.  For ages 10 and up.

CELEBRATE THE FOURTH

Celebrate Independence Day at Katy’s Freedom Festival starting at 9:00 a.m. at the VFW Park, 6202 George Bush Drive. The free event will include a fire house tour, water hose playtime, free hot dogs, and many other kid friendly activities.  Stick around and watch the fireworks display which will start around 9:30 p.m.  

LEARN TO DRAW SUPERHEROES

If you’re aged 10 or older and like to draw, join us Monday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m. as we learn to draw superheroes.  Local artist, Bob Doll will be providing techniques to improve your drawing.

SOLO CUP CHALLENGES

Teens and Tweens do you love a challenge?  Join us Monday, June 22 at 2:30 p.m. for our Solo Cup Challenges.  These team challenges are sure to test your wits and be loads of fun!   For ages 10 and up only.
