Selected by committees composed of librarians and other literature experts, the awards encourage original and creative work in the field of children’s and young adult literature.

The AARP Tax Volunteers are available at the Katy Branch Library to help with you file your tax returns. They are at the library on Tuesdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. However, you must arrive no later than 1:00 to insure your place in line.

Learn to use this popular social networking site on Thursday, February 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Although the class is designed for beginners, attendees must be comfortable surfing the web. Yoga is a great way to relax and get in shape. The Katy Branch Library will host a volunteer taught yoga class on the first and third Saturdays of the month starting February 7, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own yoga mats and to refrain from eating 2 to 3 hours before class.

Join us at the Katy Branch Library on Wednesday, January 28 at 3:30 for some after school fun with the Wii. Jam with Just Dance 4 and compete with Wii Sports. Snacks and crafts will be available as you wait your turn.

The Katy Library staff wish you a Happy New Year! The library will close at 5:00 on Wednesday, New Year's Eve and will be closed on New Year's Day. We'll reopen on Friday, January 2 and resume our normal hours.
