SOLO CUP CHALLENGES

Teens and Tweens do you love a challenge?  Join us Monday, June 22 at 2:30 p.m. for our Solo Cup Challenges.  These team challenges are sure to test your wits and be loads of fun!   For ages 10 and up only.

FROGS AND TOADS

Are you fascinated by these amphibians?  Stop by the library for some books about them, then head over to the Katy Prairie Conservancy for Ranger Trek – Saving Amphibians.  This evening hike will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 7:00 to 8:00.  Search for frogs and toads and learn how the KPC is working to preserve their habitats.  www.katyprairieconse

GENEALOGY SQUAD

Hone your research skills with our genealogy webinar this month.  The topic on Monday, May 18 will be: Top 10 Genealogy Tips.  The Genealogy Squad meets every Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with special lessons on the last Monday of every month.

ASIAN PACIFIC HERITAGE PROGRAM

On Saturday, May 2, the Katy Branch Library celebrated the Korean culture.  The program included food tasting, dancing, martial arts, music, and beautiful traditional costumes.  The program was a huge success!

PAWS IN THE PARK

Bring your dog out for some fun at the annual Spring Fling in the Katy Dog Park.  This year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 to noon.  Pet registration and pet photography will be available. Admission to the event is one can or bag of dog food per dog which will be donated to a local shelter.  

KNOTTY AND NICE CLUB

Do you like to knit or crochet?  Would you like to learn this fun, relaxing craft?  The Katy Knotty and Nice Club is the place to do both.  The group meets every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the library’s meeting room.  Bring your project to work on or bring some yarn and needles, and our experienced knitters will get you started.

KEEP KATY BEAUTIFUL/TRASH OFF DAY

Katy is joining the state wide event, Texas Trash Off, to be held Saturday, April 11.  Volunteers may register with Keep Katy Beautiful to join this community event to pick up litter and debris along roadsides and local parks.  Participants will receive cleaning supplies and will be invited to an After Trash Bash to celebrate this community event.  For more information, please e-mail KKB@cityofkaty.com.

EASTER HOLIDAY

Hop to library by Thursday this week.  The Katy Branch Library will close early on Thursday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m. and remain closed until Monday, April 6 for the Easter Holiday.
