YAY! IT'S ICE CREAM MONTH!

TEENS: CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY

Teens celebrate Independence Day in our teen program on Monday, June 30 at 2:30 p.m.  Create patriotic designs with chalk art and make a flag windchime.  Don't forget to log your books or the minutes you have read in our Summer Reading Program,  Spark a Reaction.

 

SUMMER TEEN PROGRAMS

 

 

Teens had a great time at our Lego Challenge on Monday.  Teen summer programs are held every Monday at 2:30 in the Katy Library Meeting Room.  On Monday, June 23, teens will learn the art of Zentangle.   

FINANCIAL WELLNESS

Do you need help with creating a budget or help finding ways to save money?  This workshop will help you figure it all out.  Saturday, June 21 at 12:30 in the Katy Library’s meeting room.  

WANTED: HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

Help the Katy Library this summer and get those needed service hours.
Pick up an application at the Info Desk, and attend one orientation session.
Sessions will be held on Friday, June 6, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and
Wednesday, June 11, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Volunteer opportunities include shelving and assisting with storytimes, programs, and computer classes.

SUMMER FUN FOR TEENS

The Katy Library will be offering programs for teens and tweens, ages 10 and up, every Monday afternoon starting June 9.  These programs will include a Lego challenge, creative projects, and more.  Check our online calendar for individual programs.  

TEEN VIDEO GAME FUN!

Join us for our final video game program of the school year.  Play a variety of games on our Wii with Mario Party 9.  Tuesday, May 27, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. For teens and school age children.

DIY POP-UP CARDS

Tweens join us to make pop-up cards, just in time for Mother’s Day.  Wednesday, May 7, 3:30 to 4:30.  Ages 10 and up.

CELEBRATE ASIAN CULTURE

Join us as we celebrate Asian Pacific culture Saturday, May 3 at the Katy Branch Library.  Starting at 2:00 with a Kung Fu demonstration and a Tai Chi Presentation, followed at 3:00 with an Asian cooking demonstration.  Crafts will include Chinese Paint Brush, Chinese paper cutting and origami.  Fun for the entire family!
