HINDI MULTILINGUAL STORYTIME

   Bring a game, share a game at Family Night at the Katy Branch Library on Wednesday, February 16 at 6:00 p.m.  Noche de Familia or Family Night is an opportunity for families to gather and spend time together.  Each month features a different activity for children of all ages and their families.  This month will feature games, so bring your favorite

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

        Join us for our storytimes this week as we get ready for Valentine's Day with songs, stories and crafts.  Toddlertime is on Tuesdays at 10:30 for children 18 months to 2 years old and Preschool Storytime is held on Thursdays at 10:30 for ages 3 to 6.

THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT

                         Celebrate the Chinese New Year at the Katy Branch Library in our multilingual storytime on Monday, January 31 at 11:00 am.  Children will hear a story, sing songs, and make a dragon puppet.  Multilingual storytime is for ages 3 to 6.

WESTWARD HO, TO THE OPERA

The Katy Branch Library is proud to present the opera presentation of Westward Ho, Carlotta by the Houston Grand Opera's Storybook Opera.  Musical artist, Sandra Campbell, will introduce young children to the picture book using music and songs.  Thursday, January 20 10:30 am  

STORYBOOK OPERA COMING SOON

                            

The Katy Branch Library is pleased to announce a performance by the Houston Grand Opera for preschool children.   Storybook Opera introduces engaging stories to children through song.  The presentation will be on Thursday, January 20 at 10:30 am during our regularly scheduled preschool storytime.  All children are welcome. 

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Join us for multilingual storytime on Monday, December 27, at 11:00, as we prepare for New Year's Eve.  After stories and songs, children will make noisemakers to ring in the new year. 

AN OLD FASHIONED KATY CHRISTMAS

                                Katy Market Days will host “A Katy Old Fashioned Christmas,” including 20,000 pounds of snow, photos with Santa, a Christmas Village with a train, live entertainment and more. The event also includes a canned food drive benefitting Katy Christian Ministries.  Saturday, December 18 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Avenue B between 2nd and 3rd streets.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE R.E.A.D. DOGS

                           On Saturday, December 11 from 3:00 to 4:00, the Reading Education Assistance Dogs will be at the Katy Library once again to celebrate the holiday season.    Sign up to practice your reading with one of these adorable dogs.  Stop by the reference desk or call 281-391-3509 to register.

MULTILINGUAL STORYTIME

                          Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks.  We will be celebrating all we're thankful for in our Multilingual Storytime on Monday, November 22 from 11:00 to 11:30.   Children, aged 3- 6 will hear Thanksgiving stories and make "thankful" turkeys.
