MULTILINGUAL STORYTIME

The Katy Branch Library will hold a multilingual storytime for preschool children, ages 3 to 6, starting Monday September 13 at 11:00 am.  Each week in the month will feature a different language, Spanish, Chinese, and Hindi.  The last week of the month will be a cultural craft activity.   In the month of September, children will learn basic greetings for each language, along with stories and rhymes. 

NEW MULTILINGUAL STORYTIME

  September is back to school time, and the time for new beginnings.   The Katy Branch Library is planning a new storytime, a multilingual storytime, featuring Spanish, Chinese, and Hindi.  This storytime will begin on Monday, September 13, 11:00 to 11:30 am.  Watch the Katy Branch Library website and this blog for more information.

ALL ABOARD!

Tuesday, August 3, is our last special summer reading program for kids.  Mick Corley will entertain using music, magic, mime, puppets, and more.  His 2:00 show is sure to bring a lot of laughs.  Tickets are required and may be picked up on Monday, August 2.

BUGS AND MORE!

Did your kids enjoy the Nature Discovery Center's presentation on bugs on Tuesday?  Come by the Katy Branch Library and check out these books:

BEETLES, LADYBUGS, AND SPIDERS, OH MY!

          The Nature Discovery Center will present a fun, interative puppet and live insect show on Tuesday, July 13 at 2:00.  Tickets are required and may be picked up on Monday, July 12.       

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Celebrate the Fourth of July by reading one of these great books from the Katy Branch Library.

Ronald McDonald will be at the Katy Branch Library next Tuesday, June 22.  Tickets are required for the program,  and may be picked up on Monday, June 21, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

KATY I.S.D. SUMMER READING BOOKS

Did your kids bring home a recommended reading list from their Katy I.S.D. school?  We have made it easy for you to find these books.  They are on a display shelf when you first walk in the door of the Katy Branch Library.   The books have labels for each grade level, so it is easy to see which books are recommended for each grade.  Can't find one you want?  Let us know at the reference desk, and we'll request it for you.

SUMMER TUESDAY PROGRAMS

 Summer is here and the Katy Library begins its series of Tuesday programs for school age children.  On Tuesday, June 8, Mark Shepherd will entertain with silly songs and crazy science experiments. Tickets are required and may be picked up on Monday, June 7.
