The Katy Library Staff wishes everyone a Happy New Year.  

The library will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 and will be closed on January 1.

LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!

Celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas on Saturday, December 14, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Avenue B in Old Town Katy.  Sponsored by Katy Market Days, there will be arts and crafts, food, carolers, and snow!  The snow will begin falling at 11:00 a.m., and Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at noon.

TOYS FOR TOTS

The Katy Branch Library is collecting toys for the Toys for Tots program.  It’s not too late to bring new, unwrapped toys for children who may not receive a gift this Christmas.  We’ll be collecting toys until December 20.

PAWS @ THE LIBRARY

Our Holiday Kickoff will not only feature Santa, but the therapy dogs will be visiting us as well.  Before or after your visit with Santa, take a moment to read to one of these lovable canines.  Saturday, December 7, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

 

The Katy Library staff wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!  The library will close on Wednesday, November 27 at 5:00 p.m. and will remain closed through the weekend .  We’ll reopen on Monday, December  2 at 10:00 a.m.   

CALLING ALL BUDDING ARTISTS!

Create your own modern art painting during Children’s Craft Time on Wednesday, November 20, 3:30 p.m.  It will be messy, but fun, so dress appropriately.  This activity is for ages 5 and up.

KATY RICE HARVEST FESTIVAL

The weather is cooler and should be perfect for Katy’s annual Rice Harvest Festival.  The festival is a great place for family fun with live music, craft and food booths, a carnival and more.  The event takes place Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m.  Check out the website for more information.http://www.riceharvestfestival.org/

iPAD BASICS

Do you need help with your new iPad?  Would you like to discover popular apps to download?  Attend the Katy Library's iPad Basics Help Session on Saturday, October 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Don't forget to bring your iPad and your questions.
