This Week at the Library !!

This week the library is offering a variety of free programs!  Tonight the Book Club meets at 7:00 PM for a lively discussion of Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton.  Tomorrow job hunters are encouraged to attend a Workforce Solutions seminar on "Evaluating Your Job Skills" at 1:00 PM in our Computer Lab.  On Wednesday come join Ellen Delap, Professional Organizer, as she facilitates our monthly Clutter Clinic, held in our Meeting Room at 7:00 PM.  On Saturday the "Knitters In Kingwood" will be in the Meeting Room from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and there will also be a Genealogy Seminar on "Personal History Writing" at 10:30 AM, held in our Computer Lab.  For more details, stop by our Adult Services information desk or call the library @ 281-360-6804.

For Downton Abbey Fans!

Holiday Hours @ the Library!

For those of you who still need to stop in for that last minute read, audio or dvd, both the library and the FOLK book store will be open today from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM!  And although the library will be closed December 24 and 25, our normal hours will resume this Thursday at 10:00 AM!  Please note that the F.O.L.K. Book Store will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and will not reopen until January 2nd, with the exception of Saturday, December 28.  The Kingwood Library staff wishes all of our patrons a happy holiday season!!

Downton Abbey Meetups Start In January !!

Downton Abbey fans be on the lookout for our "DA" meetups starting on January 6!  The discussion group meetups will follow the entire fourth season, starting with the premier episode which airs on January 5.  Come join us in the library's Conference Room on Monday afternoons from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. for great conversation and English tea and cakes!  No registration is required for this free program. For more information, contact the library @ 281-360-6804 or stop by our Adult Services desk on the 2nd floor.

Genealogy Primer Begins Wednesday !!

Become a Volunteer ESL Tutor !!

Have you ever wanted to help someone learn to read, write, and speak English?  If so, there will be a free training for prospective Volunteer ESL Tutors on Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 PM. in the library Meeting Room.  Steve Zach, Harris County Public Library's Literacy Coordinator, will be presenting current teaching methods designed specifically for working with students of English as a second language ("ESL").  For more information, or to register, please call 281-360-6804, or stop by our Adult Services desk.
