How To Pay For College Without Going Broke

Humble History & Book Signing !

Come join us this Saturday on February 8th for a presentation and book signing of "Images of America - Humble", by Dr. Robert Meaux and the Humble Museum.  Highlights will cover the early history of Humble, Texas, from the development of area sawmills through the oil booms. This free presentation will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Meeting Room. Cancellation of "Create a Resume" Workshop!

Due to forecasted severe weather and possibly hazardous driving conditions, County Judge Emmett has announced that all Harris County offices, including Harris County Public Library branches, will be closed Tuesday, January 28.  Therefore, our Workforce Solutions workshop has been cancelled.  For more information, contact the library at 281-360-6804.

"Create a Resume" Workshop

Need help with your resume?  Workforce Solutions' presenter Cheryl Sandifer will be providing helpful tips and advice to help you develop and polish your resume. This free workshop will be offered Tuesday, January 28 at 1:00 PM in our Computer Lab.  To register, call the library at 281-360-6804, or stop by the Adult Services Information Desk on the 2nd floor.

Tax Help On Its Way!!

AARP Tax Help returns once again for patrons needing help filling out tax forms!  This free service will begin on Wednesday, February 5, in the library Meeting Room.  Assistance will be provided from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. on a first-come first-served basis. Please note that on February 19 & 26, the location will change to our Computer Lab.  For more information, contact the library @ 281-360-6804. 

This Week at the Library !!

This week the library is offering a variety of free programs!  Tonight the Book Club meets at 7:00 PM for a lively discussion of Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton.  Tomorrow job hunters are encouraged to attend a Workforce Solutions seminar on "Evaluating Your Job Skills" at 1:00 PM in our Computer Lab.  On Wednesday come join Ellen Delap, Professional Organizer, as she facilitates our monthly Clutter Clinic, held in our Meeting Room at 7:00 PM.  On Saturday the "Knitters In Kingwood" will be in the Meeting Room from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and there will also be a Genealogy Seminar on "Personal History Writing" at 10:30 AM, held in our Computer Lab.  For more details, stop by our Adult Services information desk or call the library @ 281-360-6804.

For Downton Abbey Fans!

Holiday Hours @ the Library!

For those of you who still need to stop in for that last minute read, audio or dvd, both the library and the FOLK book store will be open today from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM!  And although the library will be closed December 24 and 25, our normal hours will resume this Thursday at 10:00 AM!  Please note that the F.O.L.K. Book Store will be closed Tuesday, December 24 and will not reopen until January 2nd, with the exception of Saturday, December 28.  The Kingwood Library staff wishes all of our patrons a happy holiday season!!

Downton Abbey Meetups Start In January !!

Downton Abbey fans be on the lookout for our "DA" meetups starting on January 6!  The discussion group meetups will follow the entire fourth season, starting with the premier episode which airs on January 5.  Come join us in the library's Conference Room on Monday afternoons from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. for great conversation and English tea and cakes!  No registration is required for this free program. For more information, contact the library @ 281-360-6804 or stop by our Adult Services desk on the 2nd floor.
