More Computer Classes at the Library!

Good news!  The Kingwood Library continues to expand its offerings of free computer classes!  Please note that all computer classes require registration. To register, stop by the Adult Services desk or call the library @ 281-360-6804.  Here's our line-up for the second half of August:

Photography 101: Still Life

Kingwood Photo Club's Vincent Palmisano will be on hand to offer tips and advice on still -life photography on Saturday, August 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the library Conference Room.  Registration is required for this free workshop.  To register, stop by the Adult Services information desk or contact the library @ 281-360-6804. Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness!

Hurricane season is upon us!  On Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 P.M., the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be on hand to present "Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness".  This informative program, which will be held in the library Meeting Room, is free and open to the public. 

A Summer Treat for All Ages!!!

Come one, come all to our Teen Game Room this summer for our new line-up of gaming for all ages!  We've opened up our Teen Game Room on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:30 PM for all ages, Thursday mornings from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM for families, and Friday mornings from 10:30 - 11:30 AM for adults!  The library's games include the Nintendo Wii and PS3, but gaming enthusiasts may also bring their own games, subject to Game Room rules and Librarian approval. Reception to Celebrate New Hours!!

Don't forget!!  Come join us tomorrow, May 23, for a reception @ 4:00 p.m. to celebrate the library's new extended hours!!  Thanks and congratulations will be in order for Jack Cagle, County Commissioner, and Rhoda Goldberg, Director of the Harris County Public Library, both instrumental in making these new hours a reality.  It will be a special treat to have Ms. Goldberg present, since she will be retiring at the end of May after thirty-seven years of service to Harris County Public Library!

Sushi Demonstration Rescheduled for Saturday, May 25

To help us celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Carl Rosa, from the Sushi Club of Houston, will be on hand on Saturday, May 25, for a free sushi demonstration!  Come join us in the Children's Meeting Room at 12:30 p.m. for this informative and entertaining presentation. All are welcome and no registration is required.

Come join us on Thursday, May 23,at 4:00 p.m. for a small reception to celebrate the library's new, expanded hours!! This occasion provides a great opportunity to welcome and thank Harris County Commissioner Jack Cagle, who will be hosting the event, and Rhoda Goldberg, Director of the Harris County Public Library, both instrumental in making these new hours a reality.  Congratulations will also be in order for Ms. Goldberg, who will be retiring at the end of May after 37 years of service! 

 

 

iPad Basics Class for Beginners!

New to using an iPad? Want to learn the basics?
