reed

If you appreciate fine art, you won't want to miss this Retrospective of Beth Reed's paintings. Created over a forty year period, the exhibit includes oils, watercolors, and mixed media.

Ms. Reed  got her start as an artist in a high school class in California. She continued on and majored in Art at the University of California at Irvine and also received a degree from UC Berkeley in Architecture. She went on to take classes at the Academy of Art College in the 80's and in the 90's she took classes in oils. In 2007 Beth started taking classes at the Baytown Art League.

This exhibit will be on display through September. Tours are available on request.

There will also be an informal reception at the library on Monday, August 17th at 6:00 pm.

Peter Bowman Photography Exhibit

Antelope Canyon

canyon

Photographer Peter Bowman is sharing a new exhibit of photographs with us. This series of photos was taken in Arizona from deep inside Antelope Canyon, one of the many slot canyons of that region. The light and color he has captured in these photographs is nothing short of amazing. It's really something you need to see for yourself to believe.

Hoople T-Shirt Winner!

Thanks to a staff member’s suggestion, we had one of our Hoopla t-shirts on display behind our information desk to advertise the new Hoopla Digital access. One day a customer asked if she could buy one. Since they weren’t for sale, I decided to hold a Hoopla T-shirt Drawing as another great way to attract attention to the library’s newest streaming service.
