Let's Try a Book Club for Men!

book club

Men from all walks of life enjoy reading. But we tend to read a bit differently than women and for different reasons. If you would like to find out what other men are reading or share what you are reading with other men, join me for our initial meeting of the Evelyn Meador Men’s Book Club on Wednesday, March 21st at 1:00 in the Conference Room of the library. All you need to bring are some ideas for reading suggestions and we'll be on our way!

A New Way to Read

If you are still trying to figure out that whole e-book thing, we invite you to join us for an informal and fun way to learn about e-readers and gain the confidence you need to become one yourself.  This is not a class session, but rather an opportunity to learn and explore.

We will have devices for you to play with or you can bring your own.

Join us Wednesday, March 7th @ 10:30 AM in the Meeting Room of the library.

This event is free and open to the public.

Seabrook Local Artist on Display

Meet Seabrook Artist Dori Nelson

Dori's work is on display in the Meeting Room of the library for the next month.  If you enjoy seeing talented local artists display their work, you do not want to miss her exhibit.  I asked Dori to tell us a little about herself and her work.

An Afternoon At the Movies

movies

The second Wednesday of each month is movie day at the Evelyn Meador Branch. The show starts at 4:00 and is always a surprise feature, so I can't give away the title for this week's film. It is guaranteed to be family friendly though!  Join Ms. Pearson in the Meeting Room and see for yourself. And you are always welcome to bring your own pillow as well!

Seabrook Oral History Project

seabrook

On Tuesday, December 20th, the library will host a showing of Karen Tisdel's movie "Voices By the Bay: An Oral History of Seabrook from 1832." This project, lovingly put together by Karen over the last few years, is finally available to the public.

If you haven't seen this wonderful production yet, and you love the town you live in, you'll want to be here and bring a friend!

The showing will begin at 6:30 pm in the Meeting Room. Light refreshments will be provided.
