Two More Weeks of the Summer Reading Program

How"s your summer reading coming along?  You have two more weeks to add your titles to your list.  Some kids take their certificates they receive to show their school librarians.  Remember it is not too late to sign up online under the "Get a Clue" poster picture.

We still have family friendly movies with free popcorn on Fridays at 2:15. 

Look for the collection of Texas 2 X 2 books in the back right corner of the Children's Area

Princess Tea Party

Tickets for the "Princess Tea Party" will be available Saturday, July 14, when the library opens at 10:00 am.  There will be two parties Thursday, July 19, one at 2:15 and the other at 3:30 pm, in the Children's Activity Room. 

We show family-friendly, free movies on Fridays at 2:15 pm with free popcorn.

Family Storytime is on Saturdays at 3:00 pm.

Magic at the Kingwood LIbrary!

Ted Schwank, magician, will perform in the Meeting Room, Monday, July 16, at 7:30 pm.  Tickets will be available beginning Thursday, July 12.  It is still not too late to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.  You can find out about it on our website under the "Get a Clue" poster. Friday free movies with popcorn at 2:15.        Family Story Time is Saturdays at 3:00 pm.

Happy Independence Day - the Fourth of July!

 Friday at 2:15 pm is movie time with free popcorn, It's good, too, because we have a new popcorn popper!  Saturday, June 30, at 3 pm Family Storytime craft is a Fourth of July sparkler wand.

It is not too late to sign-up for the Summer Reading Program.  You can do this by going to our website: hcpl.net  under the picture of the "Get a Clue" poster.

Free Children's Music Concert - Tickets Still Available

We still have free tickets for Monday night, June 25 at 7:30 pm for the "Non-Toxic Band" program. They are available at the Children's Reference Desk.  Starting Saturday, June 23, tickets will be available for the juggler, Claude Sims, who will perform on Thursday, June 28, at 2:15. It is still not too late to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.  Check it out at our website under the "Get a Clue" poster

Second Week of the Summer Reading Club

Check the calendar at our location for activities. We still have a few tickets left for Jungle Jim Bugs on Monday, June 18 at 2:15.  You can pick them up on Saturday, June 16, while they last.  Our "Investigation Station" craft  Thursday, June 21, at 2:15 will  be making bookmarks.  To sign up for the Summer Reading Program online go to our website: hcpl.net and  just below the poster of "Get a Clue" click on: "Kids - Get a Clue." and follow the directions

Summer Fun for Kids

   Come watch free kids movies with free popcorn on Fridays at 2:15 pm in the Children's Activity Room.  On Tuesdays at 1:30, Miss Connie has her "Read Aloud"  time with the book:   Tales from the Odyssey -The One-eyed Giant .   Since the theme for the Summer Reading Program is "Get A Clue",  on Thursday, June 14 at 2:15 pm , we're having a "Cops and Robbers" party with snacks and a craft.  No need to get tickets for this one.  Most of our special programs this summer have an asterisk next to them on our calendar which means you will need to get tickets for these.  Tickets are available at the Children's Reference De

Memorial Day 2012

Celebrate Memorial Day 2012!  The Kingwood Library will be closed for this holiday. We will open as usual on Tuesday, May 29 at 10 am.

Stop by in the Children's Area to pick up a calendar for the 2012 Summer Reading Program: "Get a Clue at the Library." You may find a calendar  for all the activities located at our website as well.

Summer Reading and Read to Me Program calendars are here!  Sign-up will be online starting Monday, June 4.

We're having a recycled items craft  for children on Monday, May 21, at 4 pm. It could save some money. Come join us.

The F.O.L.K (Friends of the Library Kingwood) bookstore in our lobby is operated by volunteers, and it  provides funds for our programs. They have bookbags for sale. Drop in and look around.

Dia! Fun With "Happy" the Clown!

Kids, come celebrate Dia with Happy the Clown Monday April 30, at 4 pm in the big meeting room. There will be face painting and crafts and songs to celebrate the day for children and books and libraries! A great way to end the month of April.

We are still having Family Story Time on Saturdays at 3 pm with books and a simple craft to take home.
