Summer Reading Inspiration Part 4!

The Summer Reading Program is less than 2 months away.  Everyone should get their mad scientist hats on and check out yet another science related story.  This fantastic series is written by Lucy and Stephen Hawking, so you know the science is probably going to be pretty accurate. George, his friend Annie, and her dad are taken through space using a super computer named Cosmos. If you are a fan of Stephen Hawking or space in general, you need to read the fictional books he wrote with his daughter....

Fizz! Boom! Read! Summer Reading Inspiration Part #3

Summer Reading Inspiration time again!  Continuing our somewhat science theme is the middle grade fiction series Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer.  Artemis is a twelve year old criminal mastermind genius, who is just young enough to believe in the possibility of fairies, but old enough to see how they might be used to his advantage.  In this series, Artemis turns from villain to hero, using his superior knowledge of science and magic to at first outwit and then assist a surprisingly advan...

What I Will Be Reading This Weekend...

Well, I have a lot going on this weekend but I hope to get a start on this book.  I have the print version of Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale sitting at home on my coffee table just waiting for me to curl up under a blanket with a fire going.  This book tells the story of a middle-aged Irish thief who meets a dying privileged young woman when robbing her house. They fall in love,  but that is only the beginning of the story.  This book begins its tale during the turn of the century New York and continues to modern day, with many of the same characters....
