Olympics Party!

Join us on Monday at 4:00 pm for our Olympics Party.  There will be relay races, games, crafts, prizes and more!  Everyone ages 5 and up are welcome!  There will also be a prize for whoever of any age can find all the Olympic rings throughout the library!  Be sure to come in and make your guess!

What I Will Be Reading This Weekend...

Well, I have a lot going on this weekend but I hope to get a start on this book.  I have the print version of Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale sitting at home on my coffee table just waiting for me to curl up under a blanket with a fire going.  This book tells the story of a middle-aged Irish thief who meets a dying privileged young woman when robbing her house. They fall in love,  but that is only the beginning of the story.  This book begins its tale during the turn of the century New York and continues to modern day, with many of the same characters.

It's almost Valentine's Day!

It's the month of sweets and sweethearts! Join us this Monday to learn how to make Valentine's Day cookies!  All teens ages 12-18 are welcome.

The Wonderful World of Fan Fiction

     Are you going through withdrawals from your favorite book or T.V. series now that they are complete? Why not try fan fiction?  What is fan fiction? Well, the answer is in the name.  Fan fiction is stories written by fans set in the worlds, or using the characters of their favorite T.V. shows, books, movies, video games, or comics.  These stories can be anywhere from under 100 words long (drabbles) to over 800,000 words long (a Hey Arnold! story by Azure129 called Learning to Be Helga).  Some of these stories are famously horrible while others are so popular they turn into best-selling novels (i.e.

Book Boxes

Come to teen time this Monday at 4:00 pm to make these very nifty book boxes. All teens 12-18 are welcome! While we will have books to use, feel free to bring in old hardback books to make your boxes!

Never Melt Snowballs!

Come to the Tuesday Craft on January 21 at 4:30 pm to make your very own snowball which will never melt!  Ages 8-12 are welcome!

Teen Time Baking!

Come to Teen Time this Monday at 4 pm to try your hand at baking Cinnamon Bread!  All teens 12-18 are welcome!

Tuesday Craft

Join us for our first Tuesday Craft January 7 @ 4:30! We will be making Sock Snowman and everyone 8 - 12 is welcome.

Tween Book Club

We will be hosting our Tween Book Club at 4:30 pm this Thursday. Come and enjoy hot chocolate while discussing Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen. For next month we'll be reading the first book in Gordon Korman's Titanic series, Unsinkable.  Tweens ages 10-12 are welcome!
