Tuesday, June 4th & 18th at 2 PM – June Daily Teen Programs

 

Tuesday, June 4th from 2 PM – Teen – iOS Space Team [13+]
Teen programs are coming back to the Parker Williams Library on Tuesdays and Mondays. Join us this Tuesday, June 4th in the Community Room for the wacky, flip-switch game Space Team. Using our iPads, you will have to shake, dial, and flip your way up the levels with a partner as you yell out what each of you have to do to make it to the next level. Join us on June 4th at 2 Pm in the Community Room for an outrageous time. 

 

 Tuesday, June 18th from 2 PM – Teen – Button Making [13+]

Make your own flair with the Parker Williams Library button maker. On Tuesday, June 18th at 2 PM, we’ll be busting out the buttons. 

Monday, June 3rd at 7 PM – VR Gaming [13+]

June begins a new journey in gaming at the Parker Williams Library.

On June 3rd at 7 PM, we are debuting our new Playstation VR rig in the Community Room.

Get ready to try out some of the newest immersion technology while demoing some of Sony’s gaming possibilities.

Health Advisory: Participants must be 12 years old or older to participate.  

Monday, June 3rd & 17th from 6-7:30 PM – Magic: The Gathering Gameplay [8+]

Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast.

It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us on the first and third Monday of June from 6PM -7:30PM on the Library Floor for a few hours of game play.

For those who would like to learn how to play, a staff member will be present to teach you.

Friday, May 31st at 5 PM – Teen Summer Volunteer Orientation [13+]

 

 

The Parker Williams Library will be having our Summer Volunteer Orientation and Training.

Volunteers will be able to get the Summer Volunteer Application packet.

They will learn the different duties and responsibilities of volunteers, get a library tour, and receive some training for the different tasks that volunteers will be asked to do over the summer.

Training will being at 5 PM on Friday, May 31st in the Community Room.

Before you head to the theater to see the live action re-make of Disney's Aladdin, you can re-watch it the original 1992 film (G, 90 min.) right here with us at the Parker Williams Library on Friday, May 24th at 4 PM in the Community Room.

Wednesday, May 15th at 5 PM – STEM Time – Howtoons Robotic Hand Project [8+]

 

 

 

We are going to try to recreate the Robots Within Reach project that you can find in the Howtoons kids maker book by Saul Giffith.

You can make your android grippers right here at the Parker Williams Community Room On May 15th at 5 PM.

Monday, May 6th through May 9th from 4-6 PM – AP Test Open Study [14+]

 

 

 

If you are in need of a place for you or a group to get together and study for the AP tests, the Parker Williams Library will be opening the Community Room doors to provide a space with tables and chairs that students can use to study for the upcoming AP Tests.

Doors will be open from 4 PM to 6 PM starting May 6th through May 9th from 4 PM to 6 PM each of those days.  

Saturday, May 4th at 12 PM—2PM – May the Fourth – Battlefront II [10+]

 

 

May the Fourth is the most officially un-official Star Wars holiday that we have.

Join us on Saturday, May 4th from 12 PM to 2 PM in the Community Room for two hours of Star Wars Battlefront II.

We’re going to squad up three PS4’s together to either defeat the empire or crush the rebellion.

There will be a few other activities for those who are waiting.
