Monday, March 11th through March 15th at 1:00 PM – Polliwog Club [6+]



For Spring Break, we have invited the Precinct One Naturalists to teach our kids in the community about the different Animal Kingdoms.

Come learn about the reptiles, birds, mammals, and more each day.

The kids will be able to meet new animals each day and complete a craft.

There will be a new kingdom each day of the week starting at 1 PM.

Pre-registration required. 

Tuesday, March 5th at 5 PM – Mardi Gras Masks [5+]




To celebrate Fat Tuesday, we will be making Mardi Gras masks in the Community Room at 5 PM.

Tuesday, March 5th at 2:30 PM – UpWords [5+]


The upWORDS program, using the LENA Start™ curriculum, consists of 14 one-hour sessions over four months where parents learn how to improve their child's early language.

You'll measure progress between sessions with LENA System™ technology, which records speech at home for a day after each class.

You'll get reports on how much you’re talking, when you could talk more, and how much you’re growing with your baby.

upWORDS will start on March 5th and continue through June 4th.

Monday, March 4th from 6-7:30 PM – Magic: The Gathering Gameplay [8+]



Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast.

It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us on the first and third Monday of March from 6PM -7:30PM on the Library Floor for a few hours of game play.

For those who would like to learn how to play, a staff member will be present to teach you.

Friday, March 1st at 5 PM – Read Across America: Magic of Mo Willems [3+]



Read Across America is a celebration of reading to kids of all ages.

This year, we are breaking away from the traditional Dr. Seuss and celebrating the world of Mo Willems.

We will have Willem’s books as well as a small craft.

Join us on the afternoon of Friday, March 1st at 5 PM at the Parker Williams Library.  

Monday, February 25th at 6:30 PM – Chess Club [8 to Adult]




New to the Parker Williams Branch Library, we are exploring the interest in the Southbelt area for a Chess Club.

Chess is a two player, strategy game that is played by people all over the world.

Staff members will be available to teach beginners how to play.

Chess Club will be held on the Library Floor on February 25th, at 6:30 PM.

We will have some PS4’s set up with the full release of the game so that you can have a chance to try it before you buy it.

Nothing ruins your love life like disappearing before people’s eyes.

Enter here Mai Sakurajima, a former child star on stage and screen who suffers from a mysterious ailment called Puberty Syndrome that only affects teens.

No one seems to notice her. Until one day when she decided to put on a bunny girl costume and prance around a book shop.

Thursday, February 21st at 4 PM – Community Craft – Alma Thomas Tissue Mosaics [7+]



Alma Woodsey Thomas was an amazing African American artist who incorporated bright colors and patterns into stunning mosaics.

Join us on February 21st in the Parker Williams Branch Library Community Room at 4 PM to celebrate the artistry through our own tissue paper mosaics inspired by this wonderful artist. 

Wednesday, February 20th at 5 PM – STEM Time – Beloved Ballistics [8+]


Cupid is well known for shooting arrows to connect wanton lovers.

But how does he hit the target?

Learn a little about the fascinating world of ballistics with this Valentine themed STEM Time.

Join us for some parabolic fun at the Parker Williams Branch Library in the Library Community Room on Wednesday, February 20th at 5 PM.
