The Summer Reading Program begins on June 3rd and ends on August 3rd.

Monday, August 19th from 6-7:30 PM – Magic: The Gathering Gameplay [8+]

 

 

Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast.

It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us on the first and third Monday of August from 6PM -7:30PM on the Library Floor for a few hours of game play.

For those who would like to learn how to play, a staff member will be present to teach you.

Friday, August 9th at 2 PM – Anime Club – Intro to Cosplay [13+]

 

 

 

Have you always wanted to be a character from your favorite anime series?

Are you not sure what it takes to be able to pull it off?

Join us at the Parker Williams Library on Friday, August 9th at 2 PM to learn some of the skills and get some direction on how to pull off your first, or fiftieth, cosplay. 

Tuesday, August 6th at 2 PM – STEM Time – Egg Drop [8+]

 

 

After looking at rockets last month, we are going to be examining re-entry this month.

On Tuesday, August 6th at 2PM, we are going to look at the different methods used when a capsule re-enters the earth and gets to the surface.

Using confetti eggs, we’ll have you test your theories about the best design. 

Monday, August 5th at 7 PM – VR Gaming [13+]

 

 

On August 5th at 7 PM, we are continuing our new Playstation VR rig in the Community Room.

Get ready to try out some of the newest immersion technology while playing some of Sony’s gaming possibilities.

Health Advisory: Participants should be 12 years old or older to participate.

Friday, August 2nd at 3 PM – Library Lab [8-13] - CANCELLED

Unfortunately, Library Lab has been cancelled for August 2nd. 

 

For those interested in a little more of a hands on approach to science, the Parker Williams Library is hosting Library Lab. Library Lab a more in depth science program that gets kids elbow deep into science.

Join us in the Community Room on August 2nd at 3 PM for SCIENCE!

Thursdays at 2 PM in the Parker Williams Library Community Room, we will be featuring a different Science Fiction movie for kids each week.

Saturday, July 27th from 1-4 PM – Magic: The Gathering Deckbuilding Tournament [8+]

 

Magic: The Gathering is a dueling card game from Wizards of the Coast.

It incorporates strategy, mythical lore, and competitive-community play.

Join us Saturday, July 27th from 1-4 PM as we bring out our stash of thousands of cards.

Each player will have two hours to build a deck that they think will win.

In last hour, all builders will duel each other for prizes like a premade deck from Wizards of the Coast or an amount of War of the Spark Booster Packs.

If you think you know how to stack the deck in your favor, compete and win for infinite glory at the Parker Williams Library.
