Microsoft Excel Class at Katy

ExcelNext Wednesday, October 19, we will begin our five-part course on Microsoft Excel. Because Excel is one of the most widely used Office applications by employers, this could be a great opportunity for you to build your job skills. Learn how to build tables, input data and formulas, and insert charts. Classes will be held each Wednesday at 1:15 PM and 4:30 PM, and Mondays at 10:15 AM and 5:30 PM. Facebook class at Katy Library

FacebookOn Monday September 19, we will start a four-part course on Facebook, the world’s foremost social networking site. Learn how to create an account, manage your user profile, upload pictures, connect with friends, and leave comments. Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday until September 28. Texas Workforce Commission Resume Seminar

ResumeThursday September 22, Katy Library will host a resume seminar.  A presenter from the Texas Workforce Commission will give professional insight on the do’s and don’ts of creating a strong and well organized resume. Learn what to emphasize and omit from your resume to impress potential employers. The seminar will last two hours, from 12 to 2 PM.

Computer Basics is Back!

Computer BasicsIt's that time again! On Tuesday August 23 Computer Basics will restart from lesson one. If you've been waiting for your chance to get in on this exciting class, here's your chance. The best part is that we no longer require registration. Each Tuesday and Thursday, morning sessions are held at 10:15 AM. Evening sessions will be held at 5:30 PM on Tuesdays and 4:30 PM on Thursdays. If you're ready to learn essential computer devices, mouse and keyboard skills, Microsoft Word, e-mail basics, and much more, then this class is for you. Arrive early because seating is limited and will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Computer Skills II Excel 2007 Class

Excel 2007As we wrap up our discussion on Word 2007 this week, we will begin our introduction on Microsoft Excel 2007. We will start by examining the Excel ribbon, seeing how it compares to the ribbon in Word. We will also learn the basic parts and functions of Excel before we create a personal budget worksheet and insert a graph. Excel will be covered over five separate one-hour class sessions.

Microsoft Word 2007 Training

Word 2007If you would like to attend our four-part course on Microsoft Word 2007, call or come in to the Katy Library to register. The course will introduce you to the Microsoft Office ribbon, and concentrate on how to format Word documents. Before coming to this class, it is recommended that you have a solid understanding of computer basics, such as mouse and keyboard skills, as well as file saving. The Word 2007 course starts next Wednesday, July 13, and is part of our ongoing intermediate computer training series.

Brand New Computer Skills II Course Starting in July

ExcelStarting Wednesday July 13, the Katy Library will be offering an ongoing course in intermediate computer skills. Some topics to be covered include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007, as well as social networking on websites like Facebook and Twitter. Classes will be held each week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Monday sessions are given at 10:15 AM with a repeat at 5:30 PM. Wednesday sessions will be held at 1:15 PM and repeated at 4:30 PM. Registration and information is available at the reference desk in the library, or just give us a call at 281-391-3509. Students will register for each new class session on a class-by-class basis. Hurry because space is filling up fast. We hope to see you there!

Spaces Still Available for Basics Computer Class Track B

Computer classIf you are planning on attending our basics computer classes, but have not registered, we still have spaces available for evening sessions. Track B classes are held Monday evenings at 5:30 and late Wednesday afternoons at 4:30. Give us a call or come into the library to reserve your place. Unfortunately, at this time track A has reached full capacity. We will offer more basics classes in the mornings starting in July.
