Join the Lunar and Planetary Institute, the Freeman Library, and SciArt Exchange for this historical event. We will be viewing the Solar Eclipse outside live and streaming in the Marge Jacobson Community Room.

**Please, NEVER look directly at the sun or a solar eclipse without proper viewing equipment. Eclipse viewing glasses will be distributed at the event.**

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Harris County Master Gardeners are pleased to offer the Green Thumb Gardening Series of lectures at the Freeman Library from January to October of 2017. Lectures will be held on the third Thursday of every month on a variety of topics. These Lectures are FREE.

This month's topic of discussion will be "Fall Vegetables" on Thursday, 8/17 at 6:30 pm in the first floor Community Room. The Friends of Freeman Library support the Green Thumb Lecture Series.

August Adult Crafts-To-Go Kits are Here!

Adults - stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This month's project is a miniature chalkboard craft (pictured). This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last. Materials for this Maker program are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.

TGIF Programs invites adults of all ages to join us for our Summer Film Festival. We will be showing films on various dates during Summer 2017. This free event requires no registration.

The Summer Film Festival continues with Event #4 on Friday, July 28 at 10:15 AM. Event #4 features "Strangers on a Train," the 1951 Alfred Hitchcock film - noir thriller which stars Farley Granger, Robert Walker, and Ruth Roman.
