Seasonal Books Ready for Purchase

Need help with your holiday shopping?

The Friends of Freeman now are selling items with seasonal themes in the Friends of Freeman Bookstore. These items make excellent gifts for family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and many other folks on your shopping list.

The proceeds help support the Freeman Branch Library and enable the library to better serve the Greater Houston population. If you would like more information about becoming involved in the Friends of Freeman group, please call (281) 488-1906 and ask for the Bookstore (mornings are best).
 

"Adult Crafts-to-Go!" projects in December

The Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library will offer the continuation of its “Adult Crafts to Go” program beginning Wednesday, December 1st.

Last month, we made friendship bracelets. For December, the craft project is one cool penguin. The project includes a magnet which allows the little penguin to be enjoyed all year long. 

This project can be requested at the second floor Information Desk. This project can be taken anywhere and made anywhere.

December Fridays @ your library

Calling All Adults!
 
The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library looks forward to Fridays as it continues the under50over Program in December. The schedule of events for December 2010 is to the right.* In December, under50over will host presentations on Nazi-occupied Holland and Holiday Piano Music. Additionally, there will be a Movie Day.
All presentations except for Movie Day start at 10:30 am each Friday morning. On Movie Days, under50over begins promptly at 10:15 am.

Movie Day @ your library

Adults of all ages are invited to come to the under50over Movie Day this Friday. The title is to be announced and will begin at 10:15 am. Movie Day will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

So many books but so little time?

Well, may we recommend donating all those wonderful books to the Friends of Freeman?

Donate extra books and other material to the Friends of Freeman!

The Friends Of Freeman relies heavily upon book donations which they can sell in the Friends Of Freeman Library Bookstore. These donations go towards making our library an even better resource for the Greater Houston Community!

Native Americans of Texas Presentation @ your library

Join us as we Celebrate Native American Heritage Month in this Friday's under50over program. Area resident David Brittan will talk to us about some of the original people of Texas.

This will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room on the first floor of the library. The presentation will begin at 10:30 am. Please contact the Reference Desk at (281) 488-1906 or visit us on the Second Floor for more information. Refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

WWII - Tales of an 8th Air Force Pilot @ your library

John B. Lee will be speaking at this Friday's under50over program. He will be sharing his experience as a World War II 8th Air Force Pilot.This presentation is sponsored by both The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) and The Clear Lake Association of Senior Programs (CLASP).

The under50over program will take place in the Marge Jacobson Community Room (the Meeting Room) on the first floor of the library. The presentation will begin at 10:30 am.

Light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman.

Under50Over - Genealogy Beyond the Census

The Clear Lake City - County Freeman Branch Library's  under50over proudly presents "Genealogy Beyond the Census." Laura Smith, Reference Librarian at Freeman Branch Library, will demonstrate how to continue researching family tree with not-so traditional resources.

The program will take place in the Children's Activity Space on the first floor of the library as opposed to the Marge Jacobson Community Room. The presentation will begin at 10:30 am.
