Classical Guitarist Peter Fletcher - Free Concert - Next Monday @ 7 PM

Next Monday @ 7 PM - We are pleased to announce the return of award winning classical guitarist Peter Fletcher for another captivating live performance, sponsored by the Friends of Freeman Library. Mr. Fletcher has garnered widespread acclaim for his sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York. He has made numerous appearances on radio and television and local venues around the country. Mr. Fletcher has also received praise for his classical guitar recordings which include works by Frederico Mompau, Erik Satie and Edvard Grieg.

Baby boomers want to know: “Will Social Security be there for me?” “How much can I expect to receive?” “When should I apply for Social Security?” “How can I maximize my benefits?” “Will Social Security be enough for me to live in the future?” Please join TGIF Programs on Friday, March 4 at 10:30 AM in the Marge Jacobson Community Room. Bruce Woodcock of Bruce Woodcock Financial Services will present and take questions.

New Month, New Adult Crafts-To-Go Project!

Adults - you can stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. The March project will be a decorative, scratch-art shamrock. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

In honor of African American History Month, we will be showing the 1963 film Lilies of the Field starring Sidney Poitier and Lilia Skala. TGIF Programs is pleased to host Robert Jacobus, author of Houston Cougars in the 1960s: Death Threats, the Veer Offense, and the Game of the Century, at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 5. Mr. Jacobus' book and presentation, which focus on the integration of the University of Houston athletic teams, is part of the Freeman Cultural Series.
