TGIF Programs this Friday @ 10:30 AM - Pickleball Primer!


Adults - Have you ever been curious about playing Pickleball? Then, join us as Richard Kidder tells us about the history and origin of the game, the court layout and equipment needed to play. He will also describe the actual playing of the game and the scoring, including some videos of the recent US open championship.

Adult Crafts-To-Go - December Project!

Adults - stop by the upstairs Reference Desk, to pick up an Adult Crafts-To-Go kit. This month, we're making fun foam reindeer. This free kit will include all materials necessary as well as instructions. This project will be available to adult patrons while supplies last.

TGIF Programs This Friday - Making Life's Major Decisions, A Panel Discussion

Adults - Please join TGIF Programs this Friday @ 10 AM for "Making Life's Major Decisions, A Panel Discussion" hosted by the Senior Care Advocacy, LLC & the Silver Networkers. Panelists include: Read and Vanae Flake, Assisting Hands, Kim Hegwood, Elder Lawyer, Scott Palmer, Heartis Senior Living, & Elizabeth Quigley, Senior Advocate. Presenters will take questions following the discussion.

TGIF Programs Friday Film Series - This Friday!

We look forward to showing Midnight in Paris, a 2011 Woody Allen film starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, and Kathy Bates. This 94-minute film is rated PG-13. Both film and light refreshments are provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. After this event, the DVD shown will be added to HCPL's circulating collection.

Adults - Please join TGIF Programs on Friday, November 4 at 10:30 AM. Mary Schmitz-Brown B.S., CCRC, Assistant Director of Research, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of Texas Medical Branch, will present "Maintaining Your Junior Outlook in a Senior Body—Eye Health and Safety Risks in an Aging Population."
