Maker Monday

We are changing the name of  Afternoon Art to Maker Monday starting next week.  On the second and fourth Mondays children ages 6-11 are invited to create arts and crafts, and on the first and third Mondays children can now do simple science exploration. Both programs start at 4:30 and last about an hour. There is no program on the fifth Monday of the month. Come check it out! 

Preschool Explorers

We're really excited to start a new preschool program this fall. Its totally different from any other program we've ever offered. Its designed for the 2 1/2 - 5 year old. Sensory and science stations will be set up around the room where you and your child will have the opportunity to spend a half hour playing,observing and exploring.  We will get messy sometimes so dress appropriate. The program is Wednesdays at 11:15 am starting September 3.

Storytime Shake-up

We are shaking up the times and days of our weekly storytimes. Starting in September, the Pat-a-Cake Infant program will be on Tuesdays at 10:15 and 11:15 AM and the Toddler Time will be on Thursdays at 10:15 and 11:15 AM. There will not be a toddler program on Wednesday but, we will be offering a new pre-school program at 11:15 AM that includes science and sensory activities. The regular preschool storytime will be at 10:15 AM . If it all sounds a bit confusing give us a call or stop by for a monthly schedule of events. You don't want to miss a thing.

Wacky Science

 The Afternoon Adventure for Monday, July 28th  features Mick Corley and his Wacky Science program.The event start times are 1:30 pm and 3 pm. Free tickets are available a half hour before start time. Bring your school-age student for some summer fun.

The Legend of King Arthur

Afternoon Adventures for school age children continues with a stage production of the Legend of King Arthur presented by the Hampstead Stage theatrical company. Show times are Monday, June 30 at 1:30 and 3 pm. Call the library for details.

Texas Snakes

If your 6-11 year old is fascinated by snakes, then Maud Marks Library is the place to bring them next Monday, June 23. Programs start at 1:30  or 3 pm. Seating is limited, so come a half hour before program time to get your child's hand stamped and don't forget to sigh-up for the summer reading program. See you there!

Science on Stage

Can't find the time to take your school-age child to the museum? Let  us bring the museum to you. On Monday, June 16 at 1:30 and 3 pm the museum will present a program called Science on Stage. They'll explore physical science through exciting demonstrations. Each program is limited to the first 80 students. Call the library for details.

Summer Storytime Changes

Starting the week of June 2, we will  be suspending the Tuesday 11:15 AM Toddler Time  and the Thursday 11:15 AM  Infant Storytime. Sorry for any inconvenience.
