ABCMouse is in the House

ABCMouse is now at the library and its free! This online service offers fun interactive books, games, puzzles and more for children ages 2-7. This educational tool is available in house for all Harris County Public Library customers.

Getting started is easy, click on your child's age, create a avatar and go. You can keep track of your child's progress if you create a login. It.s simple and we are excited to help you get started.

2016 Tax Forms

The 2016 tax forms are here. You can pick up the 1040, 1040A and the 1040EZ forms in the lobby. Although, the instruction booklets have not arrived. You can access the IRS website for the instructions and all other forms. The AARP tax help will start in February. 

 

Santa's Ranch


This Friday, December 16th from 1 pm to 4:00 pm Maud Marks Library presents our famous annual Santa's Ranch. This year we will have live entertainment, a petting zoo, children's crafts, face painting, popcorn and much more. Don’t miss Santa’s Gift shop for great gift packs –already wrapped! So start your Christmas celebration early and swing by Santa's Ranch at Maud Marks Library!

Why not de-stress before the Thanksgiving holiday with some awesome yoga? This Saturday, November 19 we will be offering a free yoga class with a certified instructor. Class begins at 3 pm. Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothing. 

Intermediate Microsoft Excel

There are still openings for the Intermediate Excel class tomorrow, Saturday November 5 @10 AM. This class will show you how to manage information and format data by using charts and tables. You will also learn how to sort and filter your data and insert graphs. The class is free! Call us at 281-492-8592 to register. 

Genealogy

 Have you ever been interested in learning about your family's history? Where did they  come from? Who was your great great grandfather? Well, we've got some great  news. Volunteers will be at the library every Wednesday  to help anyone who wants to learn more about their roots. All levels from beginners to advance will gain the skills needed to trace their family lineage using the library's genealogy databases.  The classes will be held every Wednesday at 10 AM. No registration is required. What's stopping you? 

Book Sale

The Friends of the Maud Marks Library will hold their next book sale on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There is a large selection of hardback fiction and nonfiction, as well as children's books and paperbacks. Come check it out!

 

Volunteer Orientation

We will be holding our next volunteer orientation this Thursday, Sept. 1 at 4:30 pm. Students in high school should commit to two hours a week. Contact the library at 281-492-8592 if you have any questions.

eBooks

The Maud Marks Library will be offering an ebooks class Tuesday, August 23 at 7 pm in the computer lab. In this class you will learn what an ebook is and the services Harris County Public Library offers.  Please call to register at 281-492-8592.
