You're Never Too Young

I was thrilled when I found out I was going to have a granddaughter. The first thing I wanted to do for her, was share my love of books. So, from the time Alice was born we began to read simple board books. As weeks went by I could see she was focusing on the bright colors and shapes.  Here at just 10 weeks she is already showing an interest.

The library has a great selections of board books that any baby would would love. One of my favorite is I Kissed the Baby by Mary Murphy.

Weekly Puppet Give-a-way!

Hey kids, did you know that the Maud Marks Library is giving away free puppets every week just for coming to the library? Thats right, all you need to do is come into the library and fill out an entry form . We will draw three lucky winners a week during our Summer Reading Program. These adorable Folkmanis puppets make great reading partners.

Sorry mom and dad, puppets are just for kids under 12.

Once upon a time.....

The Houston Grand Opera's Opera to Go! entertained a room full of kids and their parents on April 21 with their performance of "Cinderella in Spain". The colorful set, funny costumes and delightful music made this a special treat for those attending.

If you missed this performance, the HGO will be performing at the Miller Outdoor Theatre May 3-7.
