If we want to see snow in Houston we will have to make it ourselves, folks.  So, this Wednesday, January 8th at 2:00 PM we will be making beautiful 3-D paper snowflakes.  There will not be enough to blanket the neighborhood but maybe enough to decorate your house!  Everything is provided so just come and  have fun "in the snow" with us. Space is limited so click here right away to register for the class, or call the library at 281-492-8592.  Hope to see you there!

Toddler and Infant Time Changes

As the old year winds down so do the activities here at Maud Marks.  We hope you all had as much fun at Santa's Ranch as we did! "Cool It !"

I'm talking about the weather! Soon, I hope, cooler weather will be here. I love Fall. I love the cooler weather and all the beautiful fall colors. I also love to decorate my house with autumn colors using leaves and candles and wreaths.  I'm making a beautiful fall wreath and you will never guess what I am going to use. It's kind of an unusual material to use to make a wreath but it really does turn out beautifully - I promise! smiley  If you would like to make one too come to the DIY craft day next week, Oct. 9th at 2 PM. in the meeting room. I promise you will have a grand time. Have I piqued your interest?  If you want to participate you will have to Click here to sign up.

"All Thumbs" Can be a Good Thing!

Hey teens, every Thursday here at Maud Marks we offer a different activity for you.  This Thursday, Sept 19th at 2:45 is game day.  We will provide all kinds of games including video games.  So limber up your thumbs and come on in from the heat.  It's a great way to unwind after school. Come and get involved in some friendly competition! Make new friends or meet up with old ones. Hope to see you here!

New Book Clubs

The summer is over so it is time to "get down to business" and join one of Maud Marks three book clubs starting this month!  Next week we will be hosting an evening book club.

Starting Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 PM the club will be reading Eleanor of Aquitaine: A Life by Alison Weir. Eleanor was the Mother of Richard the Lionheart and King John of England.  She was queen of both England and France through two marriages.   A fascinating woman and a fascinating read.

Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1 PM the club will be reading The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. This book attempts to discover what people would change if they could control time.  It's about time. ha ha!
