Wii Game Day

Wii Game Console and ControllerCalling all Teens and Tweens! Calling all Teens and Tweens!  Assemble in the North Channel Branch Library meeting room, Wednesday, February 15, at 4 pm for Wii gaming and fun with friends.  Repeat, meet at 4 pm, Feb. 15, in the meeting room for gaming and fun.

Kickoff Black History Month with North Channel Branch Library, Saturday, February 4th at 2 pm.   Celebrate with music!   Young Audiences will present a history of American Jazz with plenty of instruments and audience participation! Learn about Congo Square in  New Orleans and the history of musical instruments used, such as drums, triangles, and the banjo among others. 
This program will happen in the children's area.  Groups wishing to attend please call the library.

NC Needlecraft Group--Strings Attached

The North Channel needlecraft group met January 4, and decided that the name of the group should be Strings Attached.  The group includes people who knit, crochet, quilt, embroidery and do other works of needlecraft.  Members of the group are invited to bring projects they are working on or have completed, as well as share tips and tricks that they have learned.

The North Channel Book Club will be meeting on January 25 at 10 am in the meeting room to discuss "Eternal on the Water" by Joseph Monninger. 

Wii Game Day!

Wii gamersNeed a quick break now that school is back in session?  The North Channel Branch Library will host the year's first Wii Game Day on Wednesday, January 11 from 4 until 6 pm in the library meeting room.  Join your friends for some gaming and lots of laughter.

NEW! Needlecraft Group

 Have you ever heard of crewel embroidery?  Have you ever knitted your own scarf or hat? The North Channel Branch Library will be launching a new needlecraft group in January, 2012.  All needle crafters are invited, knitters, crocheters, quilters and embroiderers.  Never tried any of it?  Join us and try it out.  Share tricks, techniques with fellow needle crafters.  Try out new patterns, learn new skills, have fun meeting and talking to people with similar interests.  You can also check books on

Movie MadnessSchool's out for the winter break.  Need a break from your holiday homework?  Join in the madness at North Channel Branch Library, the Monday Movie Madness, that is.  Enjoy a movie and snack in the meeting room at 2:30 pm, Monday, Dec. 19.
