At MeeTeen! here at North Channel we'll be playing Korean games and celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month. MeeTeen programs are for teens and tweens,  usually bimonthly, and include fun afterschool activities such as science themes, crafts or movies...Free refreshments provided! Bravo, Chico Canta! Bravo!

 Join us this Thursday, April 28 at 4:30pm here at North Channel Branch when we'll celebrate El dia de los ninos, el dia de los libros, (Children's Day/Book Day), commonly known as Dia! Dia is a celebration every day of children, families and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. It celebrates the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Bravo, Chico Canta! Bravo! is a bilingual play, based on the book by Pat Mora, and presented by Brave Little Company. English translation: The Little Mouse who put on a play. No tickets required.

Earth Day Craft

Join us for Earth Day Fun at North Channel Branch! This Wednesday, April 20 at 4:30pm we'll be combining your coffee filter earth creation and a photo to make a collaborative Earth Day Bulletin Board...Also enjoy a balloon release and refreshments in recognition of  Autism Awareness Month! Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Spring Celebration @ NC Storytimes!

Hop on down to North Channel storytimes this week and celebrate the spring season with us! We'll hunt for eggs after Toddler Time (for ages 18 months to 3 years), Tuesday, March 21 at 10:30am & Preschool Storytime (for ages 3 to 6 years) also Tuesday at 1:30pm. Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration!

Children's Games of the 1800's & the Pony Express!

Callin' all cowpokes, cowboys, and cowgals! Mosey on down to North Channel Library this Wednesday, February 24 at 4:30pm when we'll host the Houston Rodeo's special presentation of "Children's Games of the 1800's and the Pony Express"! The Speaker's Bureau will provide interactive games and a historical themed craft activity too. Gather 'round the Children's Area for this rip roarin' program if yer ages 4 and up...

Valentine Fun @ North Channel!

  Will you be our Valentine? Join us and create your own fun foam, "Valentine Caterpillar or Butterfly Treat Craft",  this Wednesday, February 10 at 4:30 pm. We will supply all materials needed. We'll meet in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for children 4-12 years.

Preschool Storytime

Parents, do your children like stories? Or would like to help your child with early literacy? Then join us for our weekly Storytime, every Tuesday at 1:30pm. We share stories, songs, and finger plays. Your child will have fun and learn at the same time! Padres, a sus hijos les gustan los cuentos? O quieren ayudarlos a leer?

Monday Movie: Goosebumps!

Do you like R. L. Stine and the Goosebumps series? Then this month's Monday Movie is for you! Find out if a teenager who teams up with R.L. Stines's daughter can put a stop to the spooky happenings in Madison, Delaware, that were released from the writer's imagination...This new release is Rated PG. Movie length is 1hour and 43 minutes. We'll show this feature on our big screen in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Polliwog Club @ North Channel Library

  Do you like animals? Deussen Park's Traveling Naturalist will be here at North Channel Branch for a first Spring visit with  "Inside/Out Animals",  where you will learn about specialized animal parts and have the opportunity to touch live animals too!" The fun starts Tuesday, January 19 at 1:30pm in the Public Meeting Room.
