Bugs of the World!

Insects,  arachnids, and reptiles... Oh my!  Do you want to see some creepy crawlies? Then Jungle Jim's  Show this Wednesday, June 25 at 2:30pm is for you! Jungle Jim always provides a high-energy  presentation and holds the World Record for the largest Giant African Millipede. No tickets are required. Just show up in the Children's Area at North Channel Library and be ready to be amazed! Recommended for ages 4 and up please.

Summer Reading Fun Sign-up & Kickoff!

Fizz! Boom! Read! Are you ready for Summer Reading Fun? Yes?! Then drop by between 2 -4pm next Monday, June 9 for our Kickoff with Party Animals and Bubble Parties Texas...we'll have  face-painting, balloon animals, bubbles and music with a DJ! Don't forget to sign-up for Summer Reading anytime between June 2-August 9 for great incentives... try online! There are programs for babies, children, teens, AND adults this year.

Polliwog Club @ North Channel Library

Do you like animals? Deussen Park's Traveling Naturalist will be visiting us at Preschool Storytime one last day for the Spring Animal Senses Series . We hope you join us Tuesday, May 20 at 1:30 pm.

We'll meet in the Public Meeting Room. This program is recommended for Preschool and Elementary Age Children. No tickets required. Groups please contact North Channel Branch at 281-457-1631.

Asian Pacific Heritage@NChannel

Do you want to get tropical?  Then Celebrate Asian-Pacific Heritage Month with a Hawaiian Craft and get a taste of Summer too! We'll be " going to a hukilau" with lei-making, Hawaiian music and Asian-inspired refreshments. The fun begins at 4:30 pm this Wednesday, May 7 in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

World Book Night

The reading is free! Enjoy activities based on The Ruins of Gorlan, the first book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by Australian author John Flanagan. Archery and refreshments for all!

North Channel Branch and Books-A-Million have teamed up to host our first annual  World Book Night at 4:30 pm Wednesday at 15741 Wallisville Rd in the Public Meeting Room.

World Book Night is an annual celebration dedicated to spreading the joy of reading. Each year on April 23, tens of thousands of people go out into their communities and give half a million free World Book Night paperbacks to light and nonreaders. 

Egg-tastic Kids Craft!

Join us for a fun Springtime craft at the library...We'll be creating festive large-sized eggs with scrapbook paper strips and enjoying seasonal goodies as well!  The fun starts at 4:30 pm on April 9 in the Public Meeting Room. LEGO Play @ North Channel Library!

Calling all Lego loving kids! This Thursday, March 13 @ 2:30 pm come to the library and play Life of George with Lego Blocks.  Build and scan your project for a score or play for fun.  Free play with blocks for younger children.  Groups please call.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

We'll be celebrating Theodore Geisel's birthday this Monday with a story, photo booth action, activities and tasty treats!  The fun starts at 4:30pm on March 3 in the Children's Area so don't be late! Valentine Fun @ North Channel!

          

Will you be our Valentine? If you like sweet treats and would like to create your own custom cupcake design then join us this Wednesday, February 5 at 4:30 pm. You may choose from a variety of yummy toppings. We'll meet in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for children of all ages.

Halloween Howl!

 

 

Do you like treats? Then don't miss our Halloween Howl this Thursday, October 31 at 4:30pm. We'll be playing a variety of carnival styles games around the Children's Area with candy and prizes for all participants. Don't forget to wear a costume...we'll have our own library costume parade at the end of the program!
