Hispanic Heritage Craft @ NChannel

 It's Fiesta time! Create a unique craft project to kick-off Hispanic Hertiage Month this Wednesday, September 17 at 4:30pm with us! We'll be making "Mexican Folk Art Mirrors" and enjoying themed local refreshments too. So don't miss it...the program will be in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for ages 4 and up. Storybook Opera @ the Library!

 

Did you know opera is for kids too? The internationally renowned award-winning Houston Grand Opera is a local gem! Sandra Campbell will be here performing Kitten's First Full Moon and Muncha! Muncha! Muncha! picture books on Tuesday, September 9th at 1:30pm. For groups or more information please call the library at 281-457-1631. The performance is short -so don't be late!

We sure had a great time exploring the world of science this summer with reading programs for all ages...with over 1500 participants at the North Channel Branch!  Stay tuned though-the fun is not over yet.  In October there will be an exciting exhibit featuring a model of the International Space Station as well as kids and teen programming coming from NASA/Johnson Space Center!

Puppet Pizzazz! @NChannel Library

The summer isn't over yet! The library still has plenty of programs for babies, kids, and teens until school begins...including African Tales by Puppet Pizzazz!  The fun will start at 2:30pm on Wednesday, July 30, so come and cool off at North Channel Branch if you'd like to see giant, shadow, and recycled puppets. Stranger Danger @NChannel Library

Do you know the difference between good and bad strangers? Harris County Sheriff's Department will be here Wednesday, July 2 at 2:30pm to help us learn all about Stranger Danger.  Join us and you just may see Robot GISMO at the end of the show who will entertain us with music and fun! Bugs of the World!

Insects,  arachnids, and reptiles... Oh my!  Do you want to see some creepy crawlies? Then Jungle Jim's  Show this Wednesday, June 25 at 2:30pm is for you! Jungle Jim always provides a high-energy  presentation and holds the World Record for the largest Giant African Millipede. No tickets are required. Just show up in the Children's Area at North Channel Library and be ready to be amazed! Recommended for ages 4 and up please.

Summer Reading Fun Sign-up & Kickoff!

Fizz! Boom! Read! Are you ready for Summer Reading Fun? Yes?! Then drop by between 2 -4pm next Monday, June 9 for our Kickoff with Party Animals and Bubble Parties Texas...we'll have  face-painting, balloon animals, bubbles and music with a DJ! Don't forget to sign-up for Summer Reading anytime between June 2-August 9 for great incentives... try online! There are programs for babies, children, teens, AND adults this year.

Asian Pacific Heritage@NChannel

Do you want to get tropical?  Then Celebrate Asian-Pacific Heritage Month with a Hawaiian Craft and get a taste of Summer too! We'll be " going to a hukilau" with lei-making, Hawaiian music and Asian-inspired refreshments. The fun begins at 4:30 pm this Wednesday, May 7 in the Public Meeting Room.
