Building Bucks Family Night


Would you like to engage your child in fun bilingual activities which encourage financial literacy?Then attend North Channel Library's "Buiding Bucks" program (developed by the Children's Museum) this Monday, September 19 from 6-7pm. We will be meeting in the Public Meeting Room. Activities are recommended for ages 2-8 years. Groups please call North Channel Branch at 281-457-1631.

Would you like to get back to school stress-free? Then stop by and  make your own stress ball and duct tape bookmark this Wednesday, August 31 at 4:30pm with us!  All materials are provided. Recommended for ages 10-12 years.

Tween Time:Yoga!

Strike a pose! Join us Wednesday, July 27 at 4:30pm in the Children's Area when the Wendel D. Ley Family YMCA is here to give us a free yoga class. This program is open to beginners and is recommended for ages 10-12 years. Don't forget any activity counts toward your first reading goal this year for Summer Reading-all ages may sign up online at www. hcpl.net or ask any staff member. Complete any combo of 10 activities and/or books! Pick up your prizes including a pin, a certificate, and a free book (for children) by August 6.

Monday Movie- Kung Fu Panda 3!

Hi-yah! Catch some high flying animated action and beat the heat this Monday, July 25 at 2:30pm here at North Channel Branch when we'll show Kung Fu Panda 3! This feature is rated PG and is 1 hour and 35 min. in length. Pick up your free tickets beginning Monday at 1 pm.

Crocodile Encounter!

Are you scared of our "reptilian friends"? Well don't be! Overcome your fears and view live animals such as alligators, crocodiles, turtles, tortoises, monitors and snakes at North Channel Library this Wednesday, July 13 at 2:30pm! Crocodile Encounter offers the biggest crocodile show in the Houston area and will be right here in the Children's Area-no tickets are necessary. The program is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Andy Roo Music!

Join Andy Roo this Wednesday at 2:30pm on a musical journey for all ages! Engage your inner child's imagination with live acoustic guitar music and song...This show will take place in the Children's Area and no tickets are needed. The performer, Andrew Karnavas, has been a feature performer on Radio Disney, the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, PBS and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. His debut children's album Welcome to the AndyRooniverse was recorded in part at the #1 ranked children's museum in the United States, the Children's Museum of Houston. Don't miss it!

Houston Astros Orbit @ N.Channel!

Calling all baseball and reading fans-or anyone who loves to have fun! Houston Astros own mascot Orbit  will be here Wednesday, June 15 at 2:30pm for a HIGHLY entertaining and motivational show...Participate in a pep-rally of sorts right in the middle of the Children's Area here at North Channel! For all ages. No tickets required. Don't forget  your cameras...

Summer Reading Fun Begins!

       North Channel kicks off Summer Reading Fun events this Monday, June 6! Everyone is invited to  participate...babies, children, teens and adults - so be sure to sign up online at http://www.hcpl.net or visit the library to get started. Also, we'll host a performance by Magic Dork Tuesday, June 7 at 10:30am in the Children's Area for our first big show!
