World Book Night

The reading is free! Enjoy activities based on The Ruins of Gorlan, the first book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by Australian author John Flanagan. Archery and refreshments for all!

North Channel Branch and Books-A-Million have teamed up to host our first annual  World Book Night at 4:30 pm Wednesday at 15741 Wallisville Rd in the Public Meeting Room.

World Book Night is an annual celebration dedicated to spreading the joy of reading. Each year on April 23, tens of thousands of people go out into their communities and give half a million free World Book Night paperbacks to light and nonreaders. 

Egg-tastic Kids Craft!

openclipart.org Do you have Spring Fever? North Channel Branch has a cure! Join us for a fun Springtime craft at the library...We'll be creating festive large-sized eggs with scrapbook paper strips and enjoying seasonal goodies as well!  The fun starts at 4:30 pm on April 9 in the Public Meeting Room. This program is recommended for ages 4 and up.  All materials are provided.  Groups please call the library at (281) 457-1631.

LEGO Play @ North Channel Library!

Calling all Lego loving kids! This Thursday, March 13 @ 2:30 pm come to the library and play Life of George with Lego Blocks.  Build and scan your project for a score or play for fun.  Free play with blocks for younger children.  Groups please call.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

We'll be celebrating Theodore Geisel's birthday this Monday with a story, photo booth action, activities and tasty treats!  The fun starts at 4:30pm on March 3 in the Children's Area so don't be late! Valentine Fun @ North Channel!

          

Will you be our Valentine? If you like sweet treats and would like to create your own custom cupcake design then join us this Wednesday, February 5 at 4:30 pm. You may choose from a variety of yummy toppings. We'll meet in the Public Meeting Room. Recommended for children of all ages.

Book Bash Magic!

 

Abracadabra! Do you like magic? Then don't miss Julian Franklin's real bunny, David Hopperfield, and puppet Roosevelt Rat! Summer Reading Fun!

 

 Don't forget to sign-up! The Summer Reading Program runs June 3rd - August 10th this year. You can register online from home or in the library. Everyone is invited to participate including babies, children, teens and adults. Read books, newspapers, magazines or listen to audiobooks and log in your titles and minutes for a chance to earn or win great prizes. Everyone will receive a bracelet for just registering! We have lots of extra programming in the summer so be sure to join us for movie days, storytimes, exceptional performers, and crafts! Show Me the Monkey!

Do you love Curious George? Then be sure to celebrate the Week of the Young Child (April 14-21) with us! We'll be sharing a special Recycle, Reuse-Build a Sailboat! themed storytime courtesy of PBS/Channel 8. After sailing your own boat there will be an opportunity to  view an actual Curious George segment. So come join us on Tuesday, April 16th at 1:30 pm for some Curious Fun!!!
