Summer LEGO Display @ N.Channel

Summer Reading kicks off Monday, June 5! Be sure to sign-up online then at http://www.hcpl.net/ and view our Build A Better World themed display in the lobby, generously provided by TexLUG-Houston/Texas LEGO Users Group. It  features various construction and architectural scenes and structures from around the world, including Houston! Can you spot the superheros and villians? There's Batman, WonderWoman, and even Harlequin...Summer Reading Fun is available for all age groups including babies, children, teens, and adults & there are cool prizes for all!

Tween Time: Origami Fortunes

At Tween Time this Wednesday, May 31 at 4:30pm we'll be celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month by making our own Paper Fortune Cookies! Join the fun and try your hand at a variety of colorful origami animals as well... Tween Time is a monthly program, on the last Wednesday of the month, for ages 9-12 years where socialization is encouraged in a casual setting through crafts, science, art activities and occasional movies. Asian Pacific Heritage Kid's Craft

Celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month at the library by making  your own Vietnamese Fire-breathing Dragon this Wednesday, May 10 at 4:30pm! The festivities will be held in the Public Meeting Room where you can reward your hard work with a sampling of candies and treats from a variety of Asian countries. Monday Movie Madness

Join us Monday, May 8 at 4:30pm when we'll view Kubo and the Two Strings on our big screen! Discover if young Kubo from Japan, son of a Samurai, with the help of Monkey and Beetle, will be successful in his quest to find a magical suit of armor, after unlocking a secret legacy. This feature is 1 hour and 41 minutes long and is rated PG. Don't forget  your pillows, blankets, and snacks! Recommended for ages 4 and up. No tickets required.

Tween Time: Cupcake Craft

Make and take a sweet craft Wednesday, April 26 at 4:30pm with us during Tween Time when we will create some Pop Art style cupcake art inspired by Wayne Thiebaud! Tween Time is a monthly program, usually the last Wednesday of the month, for ages 9 - 12 years. No tickets are required. Earth Day Race Car Kid's Craft

Hug the earth today by doing your part to recycle or upcycle! Join us Monday, April 17 at 4:30pm in making a Recyclable Bottle Car Craft you will assemble yourself that actually moves. This program is recommended for ages 4 and up. Happy Earth Day!

Bunny Hops Kid's Craft

Hippity Hoppity-there's a  holiday on it's way! Hop on in to the library on Wednesday, April 12 at 4:30pm when you can make your own bunny ears and enjoy some treats too! Tween Time: Washi Projects

Create fun projects with us at Tween Time on Wednesday, March 29 at 4:30pm when we'll use Washi tape to make coasters and other items. We'll meet in the Public Meeting Room. This program is recommended for ages 9- 12 years. All materials are supplied.

Once Upon a Time...

Fly on in to Preschool Storytime this Wednesday, March 22 at 1:30pm when we'll share fairy tale themed books featuring dragons, princesses, castles and more!
