Check out the events happening just for teens at the library this week! Teens are considered those entering grades 6-12.

BYO Tabletop Gaming for Teens

Wednesday, July 20: BYO Tabletop Gaming, 2:00-4:00 in the Teen Area
This is a come-and-go, bring-your-own tabletop gaming event. If you play D&D, Magic, Pokemon, or any other tabletop games, bring your decks and join others! The library will also provide other board games, such as Uno and Clue.

Thursday, July 21: Cosplay Chess, 2:00-3:00 in the Teen Area
Play live-action chess while dressed as your favorite characters! Cosplay is encouraged, and all skill levels are welcome.

Kingwood Ice Cream CarnivalCheck out the events happening just for teens at the library this week! Teens are considered those entering grades 6-12.

Wednesday, July 13: Ice Cream Social & Carnival, 2:00-4:00 in the Meeting Room, ALL AGES
Celebrate National Ice Cream Month with ice cream* and carnival-style games. All ages are welcome at this fun, family event! *Ice cream is available while supplies last.

Thursday, July 14: 3D Thursday, 2:00-4:00 in the Teen Area
Teens can see the 3D printer in action and learn how to create and print their own designs. Learn from peers with our 3D Printer Teen Volunteers, and find out how to get your design showcased in August for your 3D Printer Demo & Student Showcase.

Movie Mondays for Teens

Every Monday this summer, we will be showing a different movie for teens, June 13-August 15 from 2:00-4:30 (or when the movie ends). Eat popcorn and relax with friends in the Meeting Room!

This summer’s #MovieMonday schedule is as follows:

Teen Tie-Dye War

Join us for our 4th Annual Tie-Dye War! Beat the summer heat by throwing water-logged squish balls full of powdered dye. Tomorrow, June 10 from 2:00-3:00 outside. This is for teens and tweens entering grades 6-12 only. Permission slips are REQUIRED and can be filled out by a parent up to the time of the event.

Summer Reading Kickoff

Kingwood Library Summer Reading KickoffSummer Reading is upon us! It's the time of year when you can join a community of readers who enjoy reading of all kinds--from books to comics, magazines to podcasts. Summer Reading is for ALL ages, not just kids and teens, and it runs June 6-August 6.

Join us for our special Summer Reading Kickoff on Monday, June 6 from 2:00-4:00 at the Kingwood Branch Library. Learn about all the fun and free programs we have planned for this summer, find out how to register for summer reading to win prizes, watch our 3D printer in action, check out our computer classes and e-devices and much more.

3D Printer Open Lab for Teens

3D Printer Open LabDo you want to learn how to use a 3D printer and design objects to print out? Teens can learn how during our 3D printer open lab this Saturday, May 28, 2:00-4:00 in the Computer Lab.

The 3D printer open lab is part of Codename Gener8, a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-focused program, and is made possible through a grant from the Best Buy foundation and the generosity of the Friends of the Library-Kingwood (FOLK).
