MFAH @ Freeman

People have been creating art to tell stories since the beginning of time - in fact it's one of the main reason why people make art, to communicate ideas that sometimes can't be expressed any other way.  Both museums and libraries are repositories of stories.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston has created the special traveling exhibition, titled Once Upon a Time: Telling Stories Through Clay, to bring original art from the MFAH collection to eight Harris County Public Libraries, and it will be at Freeman through January 18, 2011.

Freeman's 2010 Reader Nation Winner

Congratulations to Susana Udengaard, Freeman Branch Winner for the 2010 Adult Summer Reading Program. Susana’s name was randomly drawn from those who registered for Reader Nation 2010 and logged the titles for 4 books that she read during this year’s Summer Reading Program (June 4th-August 6th). As a member of the Freeman Mystery Book Club, she reads a lot of mysteries, and over the summer she enjoyed some of Robin Paige’s books, even though she typically doesn’t like books from the Victorian era. Susana also volunteers weekly at the library, and was very excited to receive the $50 Amazon.com gift card because she already had plans to buy a book for her grandson. She loves the library and is looking forward to participating in next summer’s program.
