Teen Notebook & Lava Lamp Pens

School is back in session and it is time to get organized. Get creative with your planner by making your very own reusable whiteboard notebook. Write, Draw, Erase, Repeat! Also, make note taking more fun this year by creating your own Lava Lamp Pens. It all happens in the Teen Room on Tuesday, September 4, from 4:45-5:45 PM.

For teens and tweens in grades 6-12.

Scratch Coding for Middle Schoolers

Learn basic coding with Scratch! Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations. This program will be on Thursday, September 6, from 4:45-6:00 PM in the Computer Lab. Registration is required and opens on August 30, at 10:00 AM. Please call or register online.

For middle school teens and tweens in grades 6-8.

Teen Lock-In on Friday, August 3!

Ready to sing along to your favorite Broadway hits at our annual Teen Lock-In? Stay after hours at the library and sing your favorites from Hamilton, Wicked, and more. Plus, enjoy some fun crafts and games. The lock-in will be on Friday, August 3, from 6:30-8:30 PM, in the Meeting Room.

Permission Slip is required. Permission slips can be picked up from the upstairs reference desk and must be turned in by 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1 (2 days before the Lock-In!).

Harry Potter Escape Room for Teens!

You are trapped in Snape’s potions classroom and You-Know-Who is coming! What will you do to escape? Find out on Tuesday, July 31, in the Meeting Room.

Teen Book Club-Wed, July 25 @ 4:30 PM

Come to our monthly meeting of Kingwood Library’s new Teen Book Club. Talk about books, eat food, maybe play a game or two. This month’s theme is “Graphic Novel.” Read any graphic novel that you want and then come and share with the group. 

Teen Book Club will meet on Wednesday, July 25, at 4:30 PM, in the Teen Game Room.

Our annual Teen Lock-In is just a couple of weeks away, but the permission slip is available now!

Teen Game Tournament & String Art

Calling all gamers! Do you have what it takes to finish the fight? A teen Super Smash Bros Tournament will be held on Monday, July 9, at 1:30 PM, in the Teen Game Room. Join the brawl for a chance to win a prize!

Then, on Wednesday, July 11, at 2;00 PM, come by the Teen Room to make your very own String Art Piece. Materials and a variety of templates will be provided, but feel free to bring a print out of your own design.

Teen CD Scratch Art

Make art with old CD’s on Monday, July 2, at 1:30 PM in the Teen Room. All supplies will be provided.

Teen Arduino Series

Registration opens on Thursday for July's Teen Arduino Series! This 4-week series is for beginners who want to collaborate and work together with other teens to learn the basics about the Arduino and basic coding. It meets once a week on Thursdays July 5, 12, 19, and 26, at 2:00 PM, in the Computer Lab.

Space is extremely limited. Register once for the whole 4-week series. Registration opens on June 28, at 10:00 AM. Please be able to attend at least 3 of the 4 sessions. You can register online or call the library at 832-927-7830.
